Will Liam:
They look really good and I love the skin tones - have just taken some screen shots as reference for later projects when painting skin - very impressive
Will Liam:
Forgot to say all the metals look wicked too
Admiral:
I first thought it was a House Goliath update. Very nice paintjobs. All that brushwork shows, but what makes the strongest impression on me is the simple gunslinger. Great model, and your paintjob does it full justice.
Jackswift:
Really beautifully done. The rust tones and wear patterns you have managed to achieve on the metal are lovely as are the mich more subtle tones on the clothing. :hat off The leader almost looks out of place with how clean the scheme is compared to some of the other models. Makes sense that guns would be taken better care of though. Great models to work with too!
Bloodbeard:
Holy Water-Melon Nuka Cola Cool! That’s awesome!
Abecedar:
Yes very nice.
Is the beer box labelled “Man Destroy Pure Ale” I can’t quite read it
tjub:
Wonderful!

Fantastic truly fantastic
Pappa Midnight:
Thank you very much for all of the kind comments. I am really enjoying doing these.
I was originally going to paint them non-flesh tones but decided to go for “Coat D’arms” Dwarf flesh as a base ( It has a slightly pinkish hue) mixed with Vallejo Game Color light flesh for highlights etc. I also used Vallejo Game Color Flesh Wash as I found this isn’t so harsh as some other washes I’ve used.
@ Abecedar: The boxes are " Max Destroy Real Ale". The leader originally was holding out a can of it but I decided to replace his hand with one holding a large knife.
I’ve just added another member to my mutant crew in the form of Rosy, a cute little dog to accompany them on their adventures. She’s a Barghest Fiend from Puppetswar Miniatures.
I’m just working on “Uncle Reboot” a slave cyborg worker to finish the basic crew.

Will Liam:
Is the flesh wash applied all over the model or just in the lower spots? I would really love to give this a try and are the lighter colours of the skin painted when the base coat is still wet? Cheers
Abecedar:
Nice Puppy, here Puppy … Aaaaargh!

The flesh wash is applied over the basic skin coat. Once dry I used the same basic skin tone to pick out the raised muscles etc. I then built up layers mixing the base tone with increasing amounts of light flesh ( final highlights with light flesh only).
With eye sockets I use a small amount of red wash before I paint the eyes and the nipples I use the flesh was in in blob and let it dry. If the transition between tones is too pronounced I use a little flesh wash instead of water to thin the paint to blend it together.
Hope that makes sense.....
Next up is "Uncle Reboot" he's a slave cyborg ( badly injured former crew member) and is a GW kataphron Servitor. I just need to attach him to his base and tidy him up a bit.
I was originally going to use a smaller mini from Maxmini but it was too small.

Will Liam:
Yes it makes perfect sense and I think it?Ts a really good way to paint them with an excellent result - Now that I?Tve got that awesome nugget from you how did you paint that wicked rust effect
Admiral:
This is getting better and better. Sweet stuff!

Not a problem. I paint my rust a little differently than other ways I've seen. If I'm doing a large rusted area I paint it in scorched earth to start. I then use thinned down dark flesh ( I think it's called Doombull brown now) to wash it. Once dry I use thinned down flaming orange ( Trollslayer orange?) to wash it ( so that it settles in the recesses). Once dry I apply small amounts of flaming orange in patches. When totally dry I use silver to pick out scuffs and scratches on bits that stick out.
Hope that sort of makes sense.
Next up I had an old die-cast trailer in my bits box and thought it would be ideal for hauling scrap. The bottles and the "scrap" in the back are from Alpha Forge I believe.
It makes a nice trailer for Uncle Reboot....
Group shot to follow and then I start work on the girls......

Jackswift:
Completely awesome. Looks great and cracked me up at the same time. The trailer fits perfectly but it is such a contrast in style to the slave cyborg that it is thoroughly amusing to see the trailer pulled behind it. Great work. Keep em coming!
Uther the unhinged:
All just stunning . I love the look. Brilliant
Abecedar:
that is brilliantly done.
