osomo4000:

my beards never lookoing good and naturaly please give my some tips to sculpting beards how look good and naturaly.

Thorne:

I think Tjub put a wonderfull tutorial on the last issue of the Word of hashut on how ot do curly ones, no matter how hard I try when I do my own mine always end up looking very flat. The word of hashut is always filled with many usefull hints tips and tutorials on how to do cool things like that.

osomo4000:

i can´t find it, can you give me a link

This is how I do it:

First add a blob of Greenstuff where you want the beard to be.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut2.jpg[/img]

Then use your sculpting tool (or whatever you use) to make the shape of the beard.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut3.jpg[/img]

Now the fun starts, use your sculpting tool to make a cut in the greenstuff in the middle of the beard.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut4.jpg[/img]

Then add more cuts where you want the different strands of the beard to be
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut5.jpg[/img]

Now it’s time to add detail. Make little cuts in the greenstuff, pushing it away from the cuts you made before.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut6.jpg[/img]

And the same on the other side.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut7.jpg[/img]

The beard now has a weird triangular shape, so make another set of cuts in the middle of the strand.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut8.jpg[/img]

After you did the same on the rest of the beard, use your sculpting tool to redo the cuts that seperate the different strands.
"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/bas_2312/Tut9.jpg[/img]

The last thing you need to do is tidy up the bottom side of the beard, so use your sculpting tool to push the strand up until it looks the way you like.

And voila, one finished beard!

The next thing would be to add the sideburnthingies, eyebrows, a new nose, and a mouth.

Vash:

i usualy roll some sausages of greenstuff (very small ones) and stick them to the face of the model. then after some drying time, about half an hour or 1 hour, start adding the cuts in the same way as Bas did. i also first do the beard and then the hair all around the head.

Borador:

Nice tutorial! work it out a bit, put it in 1 file and post it on the wiki? really good help, was still looking for the 3rd row on top so it looks awesome, and now I get it.

No, but they do need other things that need delicate sculpting and proportioning to get "just right", and might actually occupy a lot more attention and time...

Joshmohr:

Sculpting beards takes up alot of Green-Stuff. I buy the $20 Gale Force 9 one’s, i believe its 100g. Its a great deal.

Da Crusha
you could use this: http://www.polymerclayfan.com/sculpting-hair.htm

I usually do it sort of that way, only thing is I start at the bottom of the beard, draw flowing lines with my sculpting tools and then work up so that it looks layered or something =]
