[Archive] Slow and Steady - Zeit's Chaos Dwarfs

Zeit:

Hi, I decided to open a thread for my (soon to be) army, which for now consists of two Infernal Guards.

This is my first IG and first sculpt since 2008 and also my first painted mini since 2009:

Im quite satisfied with the sculpting since I really havent played with greenstuff so much, I had some difficulties with his mouth and teeth though. But its all about training, after 10 minis I might be little better.

Also, Im having hard times to find those pins that I use for hats. No shop in Finland seems to have those anymore.:frowning:

And painted:

Well, its not fancy but Id say that on my standards it’s better than I expected it to be since I haven’t painted in years.

Of course these pictures don’t tell a lot since they are really blurry, sorry about that.

What I’m planning now is to finish these 16 IG and maybe some hobgoblins or bull centaurs after that. However it might take a long time for me to paint these since Im very lazy.:cheers Bull centaur bulls I’ve planned to make out of the “ebay bulls”(the same that many here have used) and the upper bodies from Chaos Dragon Ogres. Lets see how that works out when its time.

He looks very much in the style of Tjub s army, you should check out his blog.

Nice work though, and you cleaned that shield up very smoothly.

Did you follow Xander’s tutorial for converting him?

Stiglitz:

the sculpting is very good for a first try! the scales are neat, I think, they are better than mine and the face and mouth definitely is the difficult part (so difficult, I looked for and found a way to avoid it)…

Your face is ok for a first try and you’ll improve surely with a bit training!

:hat off

Abecedar:

keep building more and your efforts will be rewarded by Hashut

Thank you for your kind comments.:hat off

When I tried to find nice/easy way to make the hats I saw Tjub’s army. I fell in love with his pinhats and I immediately knew that I wanted those same hats.

If u mean that video-tutorial then yes. I found it very helpful and I’m very thankful for that.

:cheers

Zeit:

Over a month since last post. Thats all I’ve done so far:~ Maybe in summer I’ll find more time for painting.

Very similar to my first attempts at Chaos Dwarfs (which were also Tjub inspired!):

Keep it up!!
