Johnny-Crass:

So I bought a Iron Daemon off E-bay for $20:hat off

Only then did I realize it was a recast:mad

Now I got my Iron Daemon in the mail today and no instructions. I am looking at this thing like a toddler trying to reassemble a M14. Please someone help me on how to build this monster :cheers

Lava Lord:

:hat off I myself don’t have a iron demon, at least not yet. To start with though, the best thing to do, is prefit before appling glue. Do this at least as much as possible and it will be easier. Fret not more excellent advise will follow from our better builders… Good Luck.

MLP:

As it is a recast I would be very careful with it. They tend to be made with low quality materials which are more brittle and break easier.

Johnny-Crass:

I figured it out. Saddly I lost a drive chain to extreme breakage

What you should really be doing is opening up a complaint ticket with eBay and/or Paypal stating that the product you got is an illegal copy. This protects you, may get you your money back, and flags the seller with eBay as someone who sells illegal goods. Even if you’ve decided you’re OK with illegal re-cast models, someone else might not be, so you’d be doing a good service to the hobby community.

Blackspine:

would it be against CDO forum guidlines to ask you to post the seller’s name?

I’ve seen some of those iron demons/skull crackers/ etc on ebay for cheap. Wondering if it’s the same person.

Johnny-Crass:

Based in Hong Kong and if memory serves they dont have laws against recasting. Anywho I got it built and boy does it look tasty. Prime her up and no body will ever know it is a recast. I am honestly surprised it took me this long to figure it out considering the price I got it for, oh well I guess ignorance is bliss.

Painted pictures coming soon

Thats what I did when I bought an iron demon from the "US" The chains were more brittle than dried up dog turds. I opened a ticket with ebay and I was given a refund and the seller was removed.

Grimstonefire:

Does it look greasy?  I’d be tempted to scrub that with warm soapy water.

Of course we all should anyway, but mostly I find FW resin doesn’t need cleaning.
