Blue in VT:

Howdy all…

I’ve been waiting anxiously to post these pictures here…I painted these as part of the ongoing painting contest over at the Lead Adventure Forum called the Lead Painters League…this contest involves teams of at least 5 figures and there are multiple rounds (10!) some of which have themes…and round 1’s theme was “civilians” So I managed to get a hold of a couple of really great figures (thanks DB… :guinesssmilie:) that fit the bill. First I painted up two prospectors and a dwarf town crier:







And to round out the Team…a couple of dwarf who are just having a good old time!









These drunks were an absolute blast to paint…so many wonderful details in this sculpt and the level of detail that Bob Olley Achieved here is superior to any other dwarf figure I have painted…really amazing figures.

The contest over there goes on for 10 weeks…I just submitted my week two figures…but there are bound to be lots of dwarfs in my entries…and maybe some CDs too…I’ll be sure to post them here when they are done competing.

Excellent stuff! I was considering getting the Drunken Dwarfs and the Adventurer Dwarfs from GW in the future.

the owl looks nice in your above pics. Makes me think of the Aurora Monster Models and all their extra little “critter” bits.

Lovely stuff Blue. Oddly enough the owl is my favourite. A lot of folks haaaaattteee Bob Olley’s work, but I love Bob Olley’s undead, and a smattering of his other work. In hadn’t seen the drunks before, they cool.

thanks guys…wonderful figures to paint…I may change a few things be fore I call it complete. In hind sight I should have made the bottle that the guy on the right is pouring from a different color…it looks too similar to the brew coming out…maybe more like a gray stoneware…with a blue stripe?

Mr. Saturday…some people hate Olley huh? Well I guess its different stroke for different folks…I love his dwarfs!

thanks George! I’m really crunching to get my 3rd weeks figures completed for this contest…(some 3rd ed. Reiksgurd Infantry) They are coming out well but time is short!
