Unless I’m mistaken you only benefit from an additional attack for having a pistol when used alongside a mundane handweapon or another pistol, nothing else.

Second post is correct, magic weapon cancels the effect of having a pistol for a second hand weapon.
What you SHOULD take specially if hes in a unit of fireglavies is a naphtha bomb. Why?
Stand and shoot begins at LONGEST range of SHORTEST range weapon.
Bomb has a range of 6inches, glaives 18(9 for short).
This means that in most cases you will be hitting on 5+ instead of 6+ (-1 for charge/-1for long range canceled to the above rules).
This can effect other factors as well, units in cover will loss the cover due to when the shooting starts.
