My old paint scheme when I first had CD’s was dark blue up to Deadly Nightshade with Boltgun metal details… Now however I’m tempted to paint them “classic” red scale with brass detail… Censored.gif it!!! Coat d’arms still produce Nightshade too…
Thankfully I still have a couple of pieces I’ll have to strip down, like Lammasu and Taurus and I still have 1 hero knocking around… My old Metal Taurus and rider can proxy as Drazhoath…
Really stuck for the colour now…

Sorry, what’s the question here? You said you want to go for a classic paint scheme right? In that case red/orange/black/touch of gold & dark iron are your friends, together with black for beards. If you want you can add a tiny bit of color by painting flasks/daemonic faces/magic weapons with a touch of bright blue/green/purple, but just a tiny bit, in order not to mess up the general appearance of the army.

Indeed. If you very much want to include a dark blue, then how about Nightshade hats and red scales? Details could be either steel or brass, or both.

Thanks for all the replies!! yeah I’m basically stuck for ideas, I do like the traditional red scale look, yet I also remember my own take… I’ve been looking at army blogs for ideas so far
I am doing brass, Faces will be dheneb stone (great colour) cannot decide on deadly nightshade now or red…

I’m doing the RA figures up with laquered Red Breastplates and metal skirts with leather where appropriate. It looks good on the RA Chaos Dwarves, but a dark blue with a brass or even golden scale armor would look awesome as well.
