Grimstonefire:
It’s the timeline apparently. So pretty much present day.
Just that they saw off the Maggot Kings army.

Thommy H:
Yeah, the events of Tamurkhan are set in 2511, about two decades before the “present”.
gIL^:
Good find Grim, It’s nice to see that the events of Tamurkhan isn’t being swept under the table which means by proxy Chaos Dwarfs do exist!
Remember the days this forum used to party when even a related event in anyway related to CD’s was a reason to celebrate!

Also note that the Storm of Chaos events have been totally erased from the timeline. Apperently we’re back in the pre-Archaon days, so that’s why there’s no Valten in the book. Pretty lame if you ask me, since that was one of the only progressions in the storyline of the Warhammer world.
Halaster Blackcloak:
I agree with that Bas, plus… Storm of Chaos was one of my favourite storylines aswell… just wished they did more stuff about CD’s back then too.

That’s been the case for ages - since at least the last Warriors of Chaos book. The timeline is at “zero hour” right before the invasion. Although, that said, the Vampire Counts book references it as “a Kurgan invasion” that was defeated by “an alliance of Men, Elves and Dwarfs”.
Zanthrax:
Great news thanks for the update.
Is still worth a celebratory drink this evening.
Praise to Hashut (burp):cheers
Ugly Green Trog:
Although BL still carry the timeline on, certainly in the Gotrek and Felix novels they make reference to the siege of Middenheim and Archaon and stuff as late on as Shaman slayer which is only 2-3 years old.
AGPO:
Personally I’m glad they scrapped the ending to Storm of Chaos. The way that ended was a load of cack.
Thommy H:
Yeah, I don’t know why everyone wants them to “advance the story” - do you see what happens when they try that? The strength of GW’s settings is in creating a complex, varied universe where everyone has a good reason to kill everyone else. They don’t actually make for good places to tell stories, at least not on the level of armies. When they try to use their special characters as, you know, characters, they tend not to work that well. Probably because, by definition, the purpose of a special character is to epitomise the race they represent - so Karl Franz isn’t a very interesting character, he’s just the personification of The Empire. They’re all “the greatest ruler of all time” and so forth. They make for good models and rules, not stories.

I spent a whole summer playing in that campaign all over my province at any store i could get a game in (mind you i cheated as i won two store tournaments with my dwarf army and then a ladder using my beastman army :p)

Wait! You mean GW went back on their word and I didn't advance the storyline with the whalloping number of games I played? I've been had by GW!? I can't CAN'T believe it!!! :oAlso note that the Storm of Chaos events have been totally erased from the timeline. The sarcasmometers around here were recalibrated shortly after I joined. They can take quite a pounding now.
