nice conversions and the Khans looks ace! Need to get myself some thunder wolves asap.

I agree, the khans are fantastic on those Thunder Wolves. I've been meaning to pick up more 40k Fenrisian wolves as I've got 5 of my Hobgoblins on them now and I'm very happy with them... but those Thunder wolves are head and shoulders above the Fenrisian ones. Based on the sprue pics it looks like the only obvious conversion work that might be needed would be to sculpt some fur over top of the cybernetic front limb on one of the Thunder wolves. Pretty minor considering the great effect this would add for champions or other command models too
Anyone have any idea what base size you'd need for the Thunder Wolves? Could they fit into a unit of 25x50 bases with a bit of shuffling and careful posing?
All infantry are on 20x20 and the Thunderwolves fit on 25x50 cav bases. only the Character SW model (Khan wolf) required the green stuff sculpting. The plastic thunderwolves (command wolves) all come in such a way you can config them without ant cybernetics. You can see in the vid it looks like they are almost over stretching the base but they will all rank up in the config i play them in (5x2)
Looks good man, I think you are well within your rights to make those requests. Nice to see the photos in hi res thanks for sharing =) I love the siege giant and k’daai, and the thunderwolves , really original unique army
Did Mr Garrison just call the Big Hat Bull Centaurs, ‘gimpy’? I will haul his broken body back to Zharr-Naggrund, and have the Centaurs teach him what it means to truly suffer! :hat

What changes have you ordered to the models? I really like the simple colour pallette and the dusty feel. It gives a good painted army and it's good looking. It's an impressive army. How many numbers are they operating with? If this is only just over table top standard.
I hope you ordered changes to painting of the bases. That part is outride bad I think. The colouring doesn't look like lava - should hav been much brighter. At that state a simple greyish flock would have looked better.
have they or you done the conversions? The blunderbusses looknvery good.
Using fenrisian wolves is a great idea - those miniatures have a lot of life. As has the even bigger thunderwolf - great for a Khan. Yet the insame prices has made me go for chaos warhounds as mouts for my own troops.

perhaps it's that btp-guy that's the gimpy one and not the great old perry-twins bullcentaurs, hah!
On topic: That is a very nice army tenebre, congratulations! Your conversions are ace and the blue table paintjob seems largely well executed. Looking forward to hear about your experience with btp aswell. Please share some more pictures of it as soon as it arrived :)

You must be psyched to get your army back!

i did conversions. I dont know, i like the lava myself, to me it looks more real. I really wanted this army super bleak. I always felt the bright lava looked to cartoony. But I think this is more of a personal choice. I specifically told them to make it NOT bright. I am waiting to see the next round of pics i requested with satin coast to make my final decision. Although i fear asking for a base change would mean i wont see my army until next year.
so they have levels 1-7 (7 is golden daemon and 3 they state is above table top standard) All these are 4 or 6.
The changes i asked for echo what "iamahobgoblin" said. More details on the higher level models and characters and touch ups on all the war machines plus the satin coat.
its been 4 months as of today..... and yes for the love of god i really just want my army back at this point. I have a sad feeling its still going to be weeks before i get it though.
They do NOT give ANY discount whatsoever for more models so I expect full service on each one. However i was promised this army at the latest first week of august. As i said, i will make a lengthy video review once i get the army back.

I used these bases http://shogunminiatures.com/index.html but they are all the correct sizes.
I have mag trays already done for all my army list configs so its easier to fit them all.

What kind of SICK WEIRDO are you?!
iamahobgoblin
The big hatted kind! ;)
OT: This army is truly envious, and i can understand why the commissioner would want to have them painted by someone professional (I assume that would be the right word to use).
update… they have fixed MOST of the problems. (Basing is MUCH better) and primer fixes, as well as some other things I needed updated.
I hope to have the army in the next 2 weeks… maybe but hoping. I will do a video battle report then also. will try to do a 5 or 6k battle to show the most models at once.
I have a Castellan, Magma Dragon and skullcracker unpainted and I can say I will be painting them myself after this experience. (its 2 months! past the late due date already) I dont feel like waiting for 6 months to get the 3 remaining models painted to match.
hey guys i finally got them today. I will do a video review of the army and experience with painting this weekend. Anything in particular you all want to know or see?

Congratulations man, great to hear you finally got them :)
I'm interested in knowing more about the btp-experience, communication, price, service etc. and some 360's of your great conversion jobs!
probably goes without saying but if you are going to do video pls if possible keep it to HD, use good lighting and if possible a tripod then we can really see all the beautiful detail etc
