G.2:

I am HUGE fan of Tintin, and  I just came across this:

I am excited.

Thorne:

I was half expecting the cartoon to G2 How sad …

aka_mythos:

Its a really bizarre middle ground like they couldn’t decide to go animated or live action. This type of thing really hits that “uncanny valley” and makes it hard to enjoy.

Kered:

I’m also a huge fan of Tintin, the move looks like it will follow the story of Readrackens treasure or is possibly an amalgamation of several story lines.

I will almost defiantly try to see it at some point, but I would prefer it in 2D.

aka_mythos:

The full title of the movie is: " The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn" so I would hope it follows that story.

Agreed, I also find it odd that simon pegg and nick frost are in it. Its not as if they can bust out their style of humor in a kids movie is it?

zobo1942:

this is the only Tintin movie I’m intersted in seeing:

Its part of the Hollywood mentality that notoriety and big names are what sell cartoons; not quality of vocal performance. Lets use Shrek as an example, movie is full of big names, but aside from Eddie Murphy and Mike Myers no one plays the "character"... they play themselves and the characters are just based on their real life persona. They design a cat to be like Antonio Banderas and then cast Antonio Banderas. Well maybe he gets a bit more credit than alot of the rest of that movies cast, but the sentiment is still true.

inkpwn:

You act as if I didn’t allready know that
I’m a huge animation fan, voice actors are my celebritys. It really dissapoints me that the greats are allways left on the small screen. Morice lemarsh (spelling) would do a lot better job than nick frost and simon as those inspectors imo.
