[Archive] The Best Black Library Books

Admiral:

What are the best Black Library publications, in your opinion? What would you recommend to others, and why?

Dînadan:

My personal favourite is the Ciaphas Cain series; it?Ts hilarious and the protagonist is so complex a character to the point where even the author doesn?Tt know whether he?Ts genuinely a coward or is actually heroic and in denile.

Forgefire:

Hmm lets see… Ghaunts Ghost, Eisenstein, Double Eagle, Iron Snakes, literally anything from Dan Abnett is gold. Well maybe not his first fantasy works but the rest of it!

Aron Dembski with the night lord series is also really good stuff… I have alot of other black library stuff like Cain, Brunner, Gotrek and Felix and more like it but those two are always solid.

Skink:

Xenos, Hereticus, Malleus (the Eisenhorn trylogy).

Bloodbeard:

Xenos, Hereticus, Malleus (the Eisenhorn trylogy).

Skink
Agreed. They are absolutely amazing!

Carcearion:

Eisenhorn and Ciaphas Cain! hands down the best 40k anything I have ever read, I would be hard put to pick one over the other.

Grimstonefire:

I’d personally record gotten and Felix up to giant slayer at least, I’ve read that whole series through 4 times now I think. Gritty characters that keep you wanting to know more.

A thousand sons is probably my all time favourite book actually, so I’d definitely recommend that one. Very strong characters, and the whole sense of impending tragedy.

The sigmar and especially the nagash volumes are really good. I’m reading the nagash one now, I’ll pick up the end times one after.

Emperor of Man is also very impressive.
