[Archive] The best Blood Bowl living rulebook edition?

Admiral:

After being captivated twice by the gorgeous BB computer game I’m looking to print the rulebook for some house games. However, we also want to get the best version. Which is the best one? Please include download links in your answers.

I’ve read somewhere that 5.1 is king of the hill, but have only found a download link for 5.0. Is it true 5.1 is best?

tjub:

Ive played BB for about 12-13 years and I like CRP a lot, the only downside IMO is piling on-claw-mighty blow combo. But I have to say that it depends on the people you play with, we’ve only had 2-3 players max with the combo and none who are still alive. The tend to get foul magnets. Oh, and Throw Teammates used to be able to do an accurate pass, I preferred that to the “never accurate” as it in CRP.

torn:

We stopped playing with upgrades, just made new lists for every game, as our playgroup was too small and some teams kept getting too good.

Never won a game with pro elves like that though.

Bloodbeard:

In our local league Ratt League we play with the last official living rule book - competition rules. After this GW aint gonna update no more.

This is also the rules the PC game tries to mimick.

I havn’t played the last couple of seasons, yet The 13th Danger Zone still holds “longest no loss streak” with 22 matches.

ClawPoMb is broken, and a boring way to play.

Admiral:

Thanks very much for the help, folks! I’ll look into it later on.

Abecedar:

I’m no use to you at all.  I’ve played one game so far and lost.  I haven’t the foggiest what rule-set we use.

Good teams. Chaos Pact marauder beeing a bit to good I think. Too many skills to choose from.

We also added the Khorne team from the computer game, decent and fun team.

Ah, we have a totally different view on the Pact from our experience. None of our Pact teams ever made it big, while they do have a lot ot skills to choose from they are really slow to skill up with no starting skills and negatraits on all the big guys. And once they loose a player it takes them ages to skill up and replace him/her.
