Was just re-reading the Dwarfs army book and came across the bit about how Forkhelm Shiverback (the only Thronebearer to desert the king) and his entire family fled into the Darklands. No date is given for this so its probably not a direct Chaos Dwarfs origin story, but they might have joined up with them. Just an interesting thought.
