What do you think ? …
I do like the Bit about the Lammasu although being a mount for the CD’s that really its in charge ! and that it allows the Taurus to be the top dog in the dark lands simply because it benificial to it

Luhn/Alandanir:
I really like the rule about the Lammasu being a sorcerer , makes him a nice mount for a lord choice , giving you a free caster.
Speaking of SoM , what do you think would make a nice fluffy addition to a CD army ? (other than taurus and lammasu )
I’m thinking about adding monsters to my army , but I want something that is likely to be ‘captured’ by my CDs in the dark lands and taken into slavery (more fluffy than ‘scroll of binding’).
So far I see :
-Stone trolls
-Wyvern
-Fimir (may be a pact made with a CD sorcerer , fluffwise)
-Hydra ?
-Dragon ?

I was hoping that my copy would arrive yesterday, but it unfortunately didn’t and I now have to wait until tomorrow.
However, you have greatky intrigued me with regards to the fluff on each - I mean, I could try to read it from the picture on their blog, but I think it’s pixelated beyond reading.
Regarding having allies: Lammasu for monstrous wizards, great taurus for thematic monsters, daemon allies for that bound daemon feeling (although bound as slaves instead of bound to weapons/armour), but I think cold ones would work well as well, to be honest. I have my hobgoblin “wolf-riders” on them as I felt they fit the Darklands better than the wolves did and there is precedent as they live happily in Naggoroth, which I always think of as a cold version of the Darklands (since they are cold-blooded, the heat of the Darklands would help them)…

I really like the rule about the Lammasu being a sorcerer , makes him a nice mount for a lord choice , giving you a free caster.always thought of big scaly lizards as being available for capture as the dark lands are hot. there is a stegadon type lizard from RAFM I think with orcs and a cannon mounted on its back that I have somewhere with just that situation in mind.

There are lots of cool things that can now be put in to our armys, i have only had quick read through but am very happy with what i have seen in there
Hashut’s Blessing:
Got the book today and it’s pretty cool. The comment about Lammasu letting Great Taurus rule is a little snippet at the end. Lammasu is quite cool, especially saying how much they can control with just their voice. Having said that, I’d have liked to have seen some rules about it (like Slaaneshi spells/daemonic gifts). With the Great Taurus, I think it should have had some more rules about it’s flaming body - instead of just Lore of Fire spells and them healing it, it should be to do with flaming attacks or any flaming spell and he gains extra strength/attacks/frenzy or something.
Still, very cool!
Nicodemus:
So here’s a good question for the rules guys out there…
Can I target my own Great Taurus with a Lore of Fire spell in order to ‘heal’ him (see the new rules associated with the Great Taurus)? I don’t think I’m allowed to pick him as a target in the first place, but does anyone know for sure?
If not, how else could I go about pulling off a trick like this, assuming my opponent is too clever to target me with his own Lore of Fire spells?

Baraz Gorechain:
Badass! Thanks, Tyrelli.
That’s the first time I’ve ever thought of the Lammasu as cool…
Grimbold Blackhammer:
In the BRB it mentions that you cannot target a friendly unit with a direct damage spell or hex spell even if you think the effect would be beneficial. So you could heal it with the Flaming Sword of Rhuin (however that’s spelled) but I think that’s the only one.
At 235 points upgraded, this thing is a Hydra killer!
Hashut’s Blessing:
Nico: Already thought about it. I’d have to check if Flaming Sword of Rhuin affects friendly units at range or if it’s the caster’s unit only because I’ve forgotten, but if it’s the first you can buff it and it would also get healed. The alternative is to allow LoF vortices to hit it (easy with the addition of Cataclysm spells added in).
Novogord Vivendi:
A shaggoth or a giant would fit the bill for me.
The only thing I find strange is, that there are no pictures of our two beasts on the website. I don’t know for the book, because I haven’t one yet.
Hashut’s Blessing:
Shaggoths at 215 points with Frenzy as standard is cool, but they aren’t immune to Warp Lightning Cannon.
As for Great Taurus and Lammasu on the website, it’ll be because they aren’t released until the 23rd and they tend to only put them up one, maybe two, weeks ahead of release.

It's the other augment that is targeted at the wizards unit.

There you go then, heal it whilst imrpoving its combat capability

Personally, I would like the CD’s to nab a Giant.
