I figure curly beards will be dodgy copyright territory if I do sell these at some point.Oh well, GW can't possibly have a copyright on curly beards! :hat

Baggronor:
Oh well, GW can't possibly have a copyright on curly beards! No, but I believe it works on an 'X number of similarities' basis. They can't copyright Babylonian beards, but the combination of Babylonian beards, blunderbusses and tusks... not to mention bull icons etc. I just want to be careful, plus its only fair as it is their intellectual property and I know better than most how annoying it is to have someone try to steal your stuff.
Viskar Zhragoth:
Braggronor, looking good! And yes they might be upset, but as long as you sculpt every bit yourself (ie, donāt use any gw weapons or bits) and donāt use their iconography you should be alright. If you created your own company to sell them, then youād be fine as long as you wrote a ābackgroundā that was comletely your ownā¦
But looking forward to what you guys come up withā¦and I do like the āarmoredā beard, and I like the idea of having the beards protected (hey all dwarfs love their beards, right?), but with a few bits hanging out. It should look awesome.
Please keep us updated!
Obsidian:
Like it mate!
Would like to see some more detailing though and something bothers me about the shield.
Canāt put my finger on it, but I guess that itās flat on the inside where if it were a bit hollow it would look more in whole with the rest of the model. Hope you get what Iām trying to sayā¦
Willmark:
Me likey. the back looks a little to straight and static, but for the first try awesome sauce out of the gates there dude.
I especially like the part about using old minis and melting them down, serves them right for being sucky. eyes some of his ancient minis that suck and watches them trembleā¦
Bassman:
Very, very cool.
Heavy Infantry basic chassis. Just need to finish off his shield (yes its based on a 5 pence piece, proper-sized shield!:)) and do a few extra bits.
Next Step: To the furnace!! :hashut

Baggronor:
I really like the armor, you have only to divide the rear plates into at least two/three pieces each. They should look funny walking with such rigid skirts.... if you understand what I mean.. .and it is not really difficult to modify.Yeah this is the basic body. The idea being that we cast this dude up 2-3 times then I will sculpt another set of details onto those (Different masks, armour plating) and recast them as the final versions, thus giving 3 variants from 1 body. Pretty standard practice.
The shield is too massive and large, I sugest you to find a thinner and smaller support or, better, scratch built it. I'm sure you can do better. The shield is (still) in production, but I am happy with the size (not thickness). Fantasy models always have ridiculously small shields, a shield is supposed to be something you can hide behind. Look at the Romans, now there's some proper-sized shields :)
I especially like the part about using old minis and melting them down, serves them right for being sucky. We could probably do you a discount if you send us a bunch of em lol
Lord Archaon:
Very cool sculpting Baggronor!
Did You know that 5 pence coin (and almost every other coin and metal) will not hold the paint (the acrylic one), so if want to use the green as a model (to paint it), You should cast him another shield from plastic/ resin etc.
:hat off
Baggronor:
Nah heās not for painting, just casting.
Kera foehunter:
well how big is a 5pence coin you can tell me mm will be ok??
slev:
Kera: a 5p is approximately the same size as a US 1c piece, maye a little ticker.
Iām liking the model, but technically, this breaks at least two laws in using the 5p, and could be classed as treason
Baggronor:
Well, that I did not know. Looks like Iāll be spending some time in the Tower, followed by a swift beheading :o
slev:
I used to game with a coupple of cops. They used to joke that theyād have to arrest us for using 2p pieces as basesā¦
Arakagaan Calasson:
Nah, they revoked that law a couple years back. Defacing small coinage is OK now, itās trying to pay for stuff with it thatās illegal.
Merchant:
He has armour over his beard, yes. I figure curly beards will be dodgy copyright territory if I do sell these at some point. He will probably have a braided beard, some of which will be visible out the side of the beard armour.Ohh okay thanks :)

Bassman:
We want updates! What happened to Baggronor? Is he with the Beefeaters?
At least he could have Tower of London gin⦠:cheers
Regards, Bassman
wallacer:
Really clean greenstuffing. looks very professional to me.
Baggronor:
Well, having outsmarted the Beefeaters, scaled the walls, swum the moat and caught the tube home, I have made some minor adjustments to the main green. The wrist joint didnāt mould properly (air bubbles:hat), so Iām going to invert it (so the peg is on his wrist not the weapon hand) and I have altered his armour plates so he could actually walk without looking silly. Should have some pics up by the weekend, currently working on a blunderbussman/handgunner (also for casting) and a new Vampire Lord for my VCs. Plus the first issue of my new comic, which kinda has a Feb deadline as I came 5th in the Japanese Embassy Manga contest and have been invited to a free booze bash in the new year, and I wanna give a few copies out. Busybusy.
The gin was awful.
Hashutās Blessing:
What happened to the Yeomen of the Guard? (before anyone says it, they and Beefeaters are different regimnets!)
Can you remold the wrist joint?
