Close... Try Traveller, 1977. :) There has really only ever been ONE SF RPG, all the others were flash in the pans. I have a feeling only one user around here besides me recognizes it.

I think I’m getting royally schooled by nurgle demons in this photo. If I’m not mistaken this is the night I did my first dry run of the mono-slaanesh list I’d played theoryhammer with for a couple weeks. A week later I played the same guy with the same list and smashed him to bits.

Yes, played Shadowrun and GURPs, and many others: Star Frontiers, Gamma World, Cyberpunk, Judge Dredd (the first one), Mechwarrior, Palladium SF (Rifts, Robotech, and the like), Traveller:2300, even Call of Cthulhu in a futuristic mileu and many more. While I have had fun playing other SF RPGs none of them hold a candle to Traveller. The system, the style, the campaign, the sheer amount of material to draw from, boardgames, supplementary games like Striker, etc, all went a long way to making Traveller a behemoth, IMO.

Hmmm… Er, I won’t condemn a fellow CDOer without giving him a chance to defend himself - what kind of drink is that!!! It looks fizzy, fruity and is contained within an inappropriate drinking vessel. You have a limit on any two of those three things before I condemn your drinking choice… Unless it was FREE, given to you by a woman (any woman), or the only choice. Hashut knows I spent many an hour at a free martini bar because of the women there, but I wouldn’t recommend it without an ironclad reputation… (which I think I lost at that fetish bar, but I don’t think anyone remembers that, at least, no one still alive)

We’re lucky here. My favorite bar (really a pub) the drinks are doled out by women, as are most bars around here… in an area with a sickeningly high Male to female ratio. Even better… they’re cute women too!
Sojourn would probably put some of them out of a job though
