i think that you should cover up the saddle with some fur, which would blend in well with the rest of the centaur. have you tried using a smaller horsey thing, such as chaos warhounds, because otherwise it looks a tiny bit out of proportion.

The saddle a bit iffy but i think he intends to cover that will scale
As to the proportions - its a dwarf and a bull. These creatures are at different ends of the scales. Have you seen a bull in real life - they can be massive, also bull centuars are muatated, so its logical they aren't going to look correct
As for the models, Love the use of the AOW slayers, my BC use slayers as well, but they are the metal GW variety, what plans do you have for the rest of the unit?
I dunno yet. I want to try out different armour and such on these models and see what I get. I have plenty of slayers and horses so I might do a command as well and a Taur’ruk later on.
To anyone trying to make scale mail with a triangular tool: do it from the bottom of the mail and upwards, its a lot easier to make it look good.
The first scale mail I did on a dwarf. I did some on a bull centaur before this one. As you can see, the green stuff is too thick and the scales aren’t that defined. Here I went from the top to bottom making the scales.
The second dwarf to get the scale treatment. Thinner layer of green stuff and I did the scales from the bottom up this time. I’m more happy with the result, but I’ve yet to paint any so I’ll have to wait and see. Still lacking a bit of definition I think. Might be something about the angle of the molding tool when I use it.
Some helmets I made from marauder heads. I’m glad I found a use for them. My inspiration is from the page in the Tamurkhan book of the hordes of Chaos Dwarfs and the various mask-style CD on this forum.
A technological wonder of the ages! Jetpack (arabyan carpet), steam-powered fists (sword of might) and counter-measures (lucky shield) will make this guy a hand-full for anyone foolish enough to think their guns can stand up to ours!
VVVV
I kind of agree, and in hind sight I probably should have done something more with him. But I’m not going to strip and re-paint him now, not with the rest of the army still a WIP. I promise I’ll think about modelling more on center pieces in the future
Very good idea to use the little flying guy from Rackham !
However, i think it is not enough “chaos like” yet. The colour is cool, but seeing your ability to sculpt on the other species, maybe you could improve it a little to make it look definitely chaotic.
I still haven’t decided if I’m going to paint the “scales” like black rock or brass. The skin under the scales will be painted green like on the Hellcannon.
nice blog! everything is coming out really nicely but I particularly like the destroyer.at first I wanted a giant robot but now Im considering a giant magma bull
I recognise the head you used for the destroyer, are the feet from the same model and cobbled together with greenstuff? It’s looking very good! Love the warriors you’ve done so far too.
The entire model is the Ogre Kingdoms Stonehorn / Thundertusk, sans the head which is from the Beastmen Cygor / Gorgon. I bought the thundertusk and simply hacked and filed of the fur with a modelling knife and a file. I got the head on ebay
