[Archive] Video game inspiration?

zobo1942:

I’m a huge fan of video game RPGs like the very old ‘Ultima’ series, the ‘Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’, and the ‘Diablo’ games.

I’ve often thought that I’d like to make a physical model of some of the locales in ‘Oblivion’, especially the ayleid ruins… and after looking at some old screenshots for ‘Diablo2’ I’m feeling kind of inspired.

Does anyone here use video games as a source of inspiration for creating tabletop features?

I love that game and when I have space for a gaming board I will make a town/city inspired by skingrad.

also I recomed playing TES 3: Morrowind, it's a lot of dwemer (dwarfs) ruins that look cool and chaos dwarfy:)

Yeah, I can’t wait for Diablo3… even though I’ll never get the time to play it. I’m thinking about setting up a spare computer in my house to use as a diablo2 server, though. Could be fun!

Really cool images. I’d love to see a physical model of Tristram - being invaded by ‘Moon Clan’ goatmen!

@warh: here’s a link that you might want to look at if you’re goib to be building an Oblivion-themed model UESP:Oblivion Map v2
