Hey all!
I just read this article on the escapist about a LARP festival in Czech Republic.
They made all their own costumes, and on the festivals website it has tutorials to make costumes. Though I can’t read the pdfs, the tutorial for making dwarf beards looks quite good…
You can find pictures with the article I linked.
What is everyone’s opinion on LARPing? And do you think there’s a serious lack of Dawi Zharr? Would you take part in such an event?
Personally, I would. Here in Britain it would be great to do an Albion LARP, complete with Firmir and all!
Admiral:
I appreciate LARPing when it’s done thoroughly and presents convincing costumes, like those Empire ones. Sigmar approves! Also the Dwarf outfit was good, although the beard was a tad small and the axe could have been better. Those Czechs knows how to put together a costume! The Chaos outfits were cool as well.
I don’t think I’d take part in such an event, but you never know. I would, on the other hand, any day dress up and play war with wooden swords with some mates, like a mascerade version of our childhood games. I guess I’d rather like to do childish stuff more in private with a bunch of close friends than in an open club way.

I'd really enjoy playing a passive role like artisan or innkeeper that's away from most of the action. :cheers

If I could afford to do it, I totally would. Reminds me of an article (no idea of the link right now) about a guy LARPing as a Dwarf who solved the height issue by making barrel boots, so it looked like his boots were tied to barrels (with his feet inside the barrels).
