Hi,

just wanted to say that “Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning” is still playable on a private server. They have a website called Return of Reckoning Return of Reckoning - Index

It is free to play, you download the game on that website. But being on a private server, you have to be tolerant to bugs and hotfix-downtimes. Which is better than not being able to play at all.

I can recommend Warhammer Online, as it brings to live the old Warhammer world. You practially live in the world and get to know it better than just by reading an army book or novel.

Excellent tip! I once heard of this from a friend of mine. A large amount of high quality concept artwork was produced for Warhammer Online, and what little I saw of the game world itself, it is well worth playing around in just to see the aesthetic takes on the setting. Thanks for sharing, Firehammer.

2 things impressed me most:

1.) You see living camps of all playable races with all buildings/waggons/tents etc . Lots of ideas for scratchbuilding that would enhance gaming tables as well.

2.) You walk through the Empire under Chaos attack and see burning windmills, nurgle infested villages. You walk on Ulthuan, see the home of Dragons and White Lions.

Warhammer world becomes images in your head more real and detailed than before.

For Chaos Dwarf fans there is a positive and negative news:

You see normal and three-barreled hell cannons in action.

But they are manned by humans from the North.
