There are also a few warhammer video games/computer games like “shadow of the horned rat” that had soundtracks (they are downloadable online too!.. look them up on wikipedia and scroll down to the source links for the composer’s website).
Dead can dance is a great source for some celtic-ish mideval-esque music, I agree. Kera, I made 2 CDs of ALL pirate music I collected (though alot of it is from the disney pirates of the caribbean RIDE, not the movie). They are a big underground hit on soulseek, I think they get at least 3 downloads a day (that has been going on for years).
Kera, PM me if you want the CDs in mp3 (i will upload them to sendspace for you). Also if anyone else wants them, just PM me… I made them cuz I wanted some pirate music (I couldn’t find that much authentic pirate music, so some is pretty cheesy but still fun. no kids songs on it unless you call the disney ride “kiddy”, but it was made for all ages)… Some of it sounds like what you might hear at a pirate themed seafood restraunt.
I made these CDs BEFORE the POTC movies and the big pirate craze that came after. Nowadays there are some more pirate albums out there, like the Rogue’s Gallery compilation (but I’m not a fan of it).
