In the Q&A they mention that the game will be the first of a trilogy… And that lots of races are going to be playable. Boy, if Lizardmen FINALLY make it into a warhammer game (Blood Bowl does not count) then I’ll be able to leave this world in peace.

THATS BADASS!

Likewise, I tried playing Warhammer Battle March a bit on the Xbox but never really got into it, it was too fast paced and the magic was hard to get a grip of. Always wanted to play Total War ever since I saw those tv programmes 10 years ago where they pitched historic battles (using Total War as a game engine). Time Commander , does anyone remember that? They would get these historians playing who’d never touched a computer before, it would make for some pretty good tv!

They did have two historians overlooking it and at the end they'd come in and use wooden blocks to demonstrate how the battle went historically.

Ah ok, well they def weren't gamers either, maybe they had historical ties to the battles like my great great grandfather died in X battle or something maybe? In any case I used to enjoy back in 2003 there was no other game engine as advanced! Always wanted to play it! Now I'm tempted!Likewise, I tried playing Warhammer Battle March a bit on the Xbox but never really got into it, it was too fast paced and the magic was hard to get a grip of. I have been looking forward to this for so long!
snowblizz:
That's funny because we've discussed it here before and when I looked at it I could never find the version *I* had seen. Those were with two military commanders taking the part of generals recreating historical battles. The Time Commander one I think was with groups of random ppl trying to command the armies.Ah ok, well they def weren't gamers either, maybe they had historical ties to the battles like my great great grandfather died in X battle or something maybe? Admiral:
Long awaited! Great trailer. Fingers crossed for a great, succesful and lasting game, not least on the campaign map.
Warhammer and its science fantasy cousin are such fantastic settings it just have to make a breakthrough on the gaming scene somedawy. Dawn of War was a step in the right direction, but there needs to be as good Warhammer/40k games as the Warcraft/Diablo/Starcraft games Blizzard have produced. They have to be that enjoyable and polished, with lots of replayability and sheer quality. Hopefully Total War: Warhammer is what it takes for WHFB to make it into a truly lasting and good computer game.
Grimstonefire:
Shogun total war is one of my favourite games, really excited about this.

Baggronor:
Good thing GW supports a giant boardgame, that'll let all the potential new fans collect physical miniatures of the units in the game.Well, the orcs in the trailer appear to be playing Age of Sigmar ;P No ranks evident at all. And the models will be around for some time yet.
Taking the next generation Total War game into real life. Massive well ranked units supported by mages and monsters.

New video released and it’s amazing: Total War: Warhammer Trailer - Battle of Black Fire Pass Walkthrough (Pre-Alpha Footage) - YouTube
The combat animations are amazing such and the giant bending down to pick up an enemy, or the aracknorok skewering a hapless state trooper on one of its legs and then eating him, or the arial combat between Karl Franz and an Orc warboss on wyvern. But the award for coolest thing has to go to being able to control the goblins fired by the Doom Driver catapult!
