Looks like the new game set in AoS isn’t going to be a renewal of Mordheim as people were theorising, but rather a pit fighting game. Although I suppose the rules could still be Mordheim based.
Xander:
My interest with this is piqued. I await new details.

One nice touch is that one of the Stormcast characters is female, and from what I can tell the armour looks to be very similar to the standard one, specifically in the chest area - ie it’s a female fantasy mini in plate armour without boobs of steel.
Carcearion:
What? A female without a giant metal boob armor??? Madness!!! Someone get a few Adeptus Sororitus lost in the warp so they can show them how it?Ts supposed to be done at GW.
I must say I really like the look of her, a Sigmarine who just… isn?Tt a huge muscle blob made of shoulders and is as feminine as anyone should be in full plate armor? I mean yeah I would like to see her without her helmet (probably with flowing long heroine hair blowing the breeze like any good fantasy illustration? although a short sporty cut would make allot of sense with that helmet).
You know Reaper despite the inclusion of lots of models with highly exaggerated anatomy (and armor to match), actually also has allot of models that aren?Tt ridiculously proportioned (and plenty with very sensible armor to go along with it).

So I guess Warhammer Underworlds is going to be some kind of umbrella name for other games in the AoS world, or probably just for this brand of skirmish. Game looks interesting, reminds me a lot of Imperial Assault skirmish.
Nice that GW is actually releasing affordable games again rather than just stuffing as many models as they can into a boxset.

Agreed! I remember
Slev talking about this exact idea almost 10 years ago - and that if he worked for GW this would be the strategy to get people playing and expand the market in a more cost-effective way for new players. Hopefully it pays off for them!

The new website is up and is looking pretty sweet

My favorite bit is obviously Duncans video tutorials because… It’s Duncan!! All in all the game looks like a nice little option set apart from the main game, being into Blood Bowl and the narrative league system I like what they are doing with that here too (and firestorm). Also something that doesn’t take me lots of time to build and paint is also a win so these smaller warbands means we can get ready to play alot quicker too
I’m hopeful
Firehammer:
Games Workshop seems to never grow tired of releasing Sigmarines vs. Chaos boxes with or without mini-rules. But my answer is still the same.
