[Archive] warh's goblins

warh:

hi all!

I have started to paint my goblins recently, most of them is bought on swedish ebay( called Tradera) so i’ve picked up some at good prices

anyway here’s the goblins

here’s my favourite goblin model it’s very well skulpted for being so old

just some bowmen but it only tock me about one and a half hour to paint them

if you wan’t to know how I painted the goblin skin you don’t have to wait becouse i’ve made a tutorial!

you start with Catachan Green

then 60/40 Catachan Green and Scorpion Green

then 30/70 Catachan Green and Scorpion Green

at last a extream highlight of Scorpion Green

this is a very easy technique with a good results and rermember to keep your paint wet.

the finnished model

Loki:

Great work on the goblins, the skin tone is great works really well , looking forward to seeing more in the future

Pyro Stick:

yey another night goblin blog! I love night goblins. Looking forward to seeing a lot more from this. Are you going to be using a lot of the older models or are your units going to be the new kits? The skin looks like what i do but with more highlight stages.dark angels green then snot green is all i use but it looks like you have done almost the same but with snot green mixed with scorpion green as a final highlight.

Grimstonefire:

What is the white stuff? It looks a bit like a short cut white static grass.

It’s quite realistic how you’ve done it actually, as snow sticks a lot more to fur/hair and clothing than it does to skin, wood, metal.

warh:

Pyro: I will use all the models I can get, as I said i’m have bought the most on ebay.

Grim:It’s GW snow, looks loot better in real size.

dncswlf:

I like the snow look, don’t think I’ve seen that used like this before! good stuff… my green skins are my next project once I get my DawiZharr finished… ha… so in a few years maybe  great technique for the skin! I’ll have to keep it in mind!

AGPO:

Good job on the snow effect. I also like the way you’ve done the green as it actually looks like ‘skin’ as opposed to many O&G armies

warh:

thanks all

Time for update!

more fanatics!!!

comments are welcome!

speedygogo:

I think the snow effect really unifies the models. You also did a great job with the green skin tones.

Shakhorth:

Those goblins look very nice. Think I’m gonna try out your method for the skin tones.

warh:

thank you very much!

allright, time for update but sadly last before the end of the summer:(

can you have enough of fanatics?

the answer is : NO!

I know I need one more crew

Zuh-Khinie:

Very nice paintjob!

I also like the snow you’ve put on the models themselves… it takes some skill to get it just right, and not overdo it.

You’ve done it just right

Bolg:

I love the old fanatics! great paint job (and thanx for the tutorial) keep the pictures coming.

Ronshank:

jumping on the bandwagon to say how nice a touch the snow is on the models. I’ve never seen it done with greenskins before. I love how the snow looks like it’s forming ice crystals on the models themselves. It’s just the right size for them as they are so small. Inspired thinking

Loki:

you never can have enough fanatics i have 15 in my army  great work wrah they look great

Forgefire:

Love your snow-greenskin army, looks great

AGPO:

Wow, I don’t even reognise some of the fanatic models you’ve got there. They’d murder my chaos army!

warh:

The goblin are back from a summer holyday;P

Whole army

and now what I have left to paintx.x

Shakhorth:

Love the gobbo king, nice work Warh. Your gob army is looking up!

GRNDL:
