I’m going soon to play a small match vs lizard (800pts) and I wanted to put 1 warmachine, 1 hero and rest just troop.
Problem is wich one?
with the rocket I shouldnt do much vs saurus because of r4, and skinks are skirmish so the area wont work so well.
Magma should work vs saurus but not skirmish skinks
All the other are too pricy for such a low point list, I dont feel like risking a mortar without the ogre.
Should i just drop them and play bulls?

Shot as much as you can, have the re-roll, use it in combat after that. And with the smiths re-roll you can hit a stegadon right on the head for d6, s10 hits. 210 p
= 682 points.
Let’s you have some room. Go great weapon or even blunderbuss on the IG, second unit of IG, hobgoblins, lvl 2 or a BSB castellan and saving the points on the crown of command.
Deploy in a corner to not get surrounded by skinks. Take out as many points with the Hellcannon as you possible can before entering combat.

cant play a hellcannon on 800 pts (what probably we will) because it is more than 25% of the army (200pts)
we are going to play some friendly list with just 1 unit between rare and special with 1/2 heroes.
this is why i was asking for what warmachine to use

I’d bring both hellcannon and deathshrieker sharing a daemonsmith. Deathshrieker for monsters and skinks and magmacannon for the sauruses.
Iron daemon might be a good option aswell

I would take this:
160- Daemonsmith level 2, enchanted shield+dispell, lore of fire
104- 20 hobgoblins with bows and musician
104- 20 hobgoblins with bows and musician
280- 5 Bullcentaurs with greatweapons, fcmd, gleaming pennent
100- rocket
Rettile:
Heroes: go with one daemonsmith. Fire is a good choice to kill skirmishers, but 1+/4++ cowboys would be more dangerous so consider taking lore of metal aswell.
Core: hobgoblins are cheap, but when playing against LM infernal guard shines. I’d keep them with HW and shield and field them 7 wide if you plan to fight saurus warriors or temple guards using them, but this kind of enemies are tough so you’ll need magical support or good shooting phases
Special: I think magma cannon is the best option: accurate and can damage both skinks and saurus warriors, or kill salamanders. An iron daemon, tho, would be great as long as you can keep it in close combat safe from poison and metal magic.
Rare: if you can field rare choices go with wolves and try to flank charge skinks
