[Archive] Water and coal wagons

Grimstonefire:

Seems to me that if the CD are destined to be driving around half the known world with steam engines that they are going to need wagons carrying water tanks and coal for the journey.

I wonder if WF would make these, and would anyone buy them? They could be a fun side project actually, just for display.

Obsidian:

But is it steam that drives them? not Daemon powered?

I could have easily missed this if it was discussed so sorry in advance!

Obsidian
:sick yep their steam... and it drives me nuts... deamon powered would have completely awesome.

Anonymouse:

But… but…isn’t steam just water possessed by a fire-demon? That would explain this boiling hot vaporous. It’s EVIL, I tells you!

Hashut’s Blessing:

Daemonically bound water… Hmmmm… Idea?

Kered:

I think they would have something like an anvil with a bound greater daemon of Khorn so it is red hot with rage and use that to heat water.

nitroglysarine:

lol, after watching Iron man, I have the theory that they have built an arc reactor as a power source!

 - i think i have a plan for my astrogoth model

Blue in VT:

hahaha that too funny nitro!

:hat off

Blue

Nicodemus:

Well I could keep my ideas to myself … or I could share 'em.

It’s going to be ages before I got to my unit of drunken Chaos Dwarfs… the unit filler is going to be a big still apparatus that’s heated with daemonic fire… from an enslaved and bound Flamer of Tzeentch! I was thinking to just sculpt a mini one on his black with his flaming arms pointed up at the bottom of the boiler. My plan was to continue this same theme into my mining train unit filler (which I started planning almost a year go). Need to get current stuff done first

Anyway. Bound Flamers of Tzeentch is the way to go I think…

fonejaker:

if you look at the back of the land train there is a little skip full of coal

Yeah, they seem to be sat in it shovelling the coal!

Grimstonefire:

Presumably that wouldn’t be enough for an entire campaign.  That probably wouldn’t be enough for more than a few hours actually.  So my question above was what they would carry all the extra coal and water needed in.

I did have another idea on this actually.  They could have a mini tower thing in the middle of it between 2 container things (containing the water/coal).  The tower would be built into a steam engine and ontop is a CD with a steam gun, with another crew guy lower down shovelling coal.

Fallen246:

It might just be a very very small daemon that is driving the machine with steam, and that daemon eats coal?

Yeah?

Someone?

Anyone?

Nevermind…

fonejaker:

the coal pit could be demonic, bottomless box of coal FTW

Or just ordinary coal :~.

tardis box, awesome!

Baggronor:

Or enchanted furnaces that burn without the need for coal because they have a fire daemon bound into them. Maybe the coal is for when the daemon needs a break

Hashut’s Blessing:

The break would be that it needs more whipping: I.E. Back/will break

Abecedar:

Daemons in the water… that would be “heavy man”. get it … heavy water / nuclear / daemons going berserk
