Aside from Drazhoath and the classic Lammasu and Great Taurus riders:
What models could be used as a rider for a monster (for instance a Bale Taurus ;)) or what parts could be used to convert one?

Helblindi:
A hobgoblin Khan on a Taurus would be funny
TheHoodedMan:
:cheers you`re right.
But actually I thought of chaos dwarves
Bloodbeard:
This is a WIP project that has been on a hold for a long time - because it’s unrealistic to play a taurus at low point levels.

It’s those goblin wolfrider legs from the old skeleton/goblin/skaven comand sprue. Just cut of the feet and put on some boots. In the second image I’ve cut out some leg below the knee - to make him more stunty.
This is even easier to do with armoured legs. So an empire knight lower body is perfect for conversions like this. Tjub and Bolg has both made riders that (because of their short legs) are sitting onto of the mount. Not with spread legs, but small feet sticking out from under the massive beard.
Dînadan:
How about the dwarf king on throne special character (Thorgrim?)? Stick the throne on top of your chosen monster, Chaos it up a bit, and chains around the monster to secure the throne, and viola.
Look at sciborminiatures.comUh oh, hope Thommy H doesn’t see this thread :o

"dwarf king on throne special character (Thorgrim?)? " Of course it is High King Thorgrim Grudgebearer.Wasn't sure if I'd remembered his name correctly.

But the miniature is huge. I don't think it will fit the asked roel of a monster rider.Don't think he's that big (don't have him to hand to check); remember the throne isn't one piece. If you just use Thorgrim, the throne back and the top level of the throne it should fit on a monster. And considering THM was asking for a rider for a Bale Taurus, even if you just left of the dragon-shaped 'runners' it should still fit. And mentioning the Bale Taurus, 'too big' is all relative to what monster mini you use.
"Uh oh, hope Thommy H doesn't see this thread :o"Never said he was, I was just making a joke based on his well documented hated for Scibor.
Nah! Forget that. Not everyone likes everything. And Thommy H is Thommy H. And not some sort of demigod or saint who we have to make him please everything. :sick
Bloodbeard:
It would be a cool thing to convert high king thorgrimm. I think it can be pulled off, despite the size. But the tauruk has to be really big - like Cinderbreath big!

Great ideas. I like the scibor models, they look a little less urban and more barbaric than other cd. They could be used as a border patrol for example.
Or one could use a head from russian alternative. Scibors taurus is on promo price at the moment and its a nice model, especially the beast itself.
Has anybody done conversions like bloodbeard above?
And one short question: What base size does the forgeworld bale taurus have?
TheHoodedMan:
Great, thanks. Good opportunity for a first look ;-).
Skink:
…On a side note, even without being super skilled with Greenstuff, you can sculpt a crude saddle made of basic geometric shapes, put some Chaos Space marine bits on it to make the throne, snip the feet out of a regular plastic Dwarf, and make two cylinder to rapresent legs. Like Ishkur did.
MadHatter:
The wings on that scribor taurus are weird to say the least, its not a cherub… The rider could perhaps be modded with a hat and a proper beard and the wings exchanged for the real red leathery stuff though, so it’s absolutely savable but it would need alot of work.
Honeym123:
I’m getting the Scibor Bull at the start of next month, if you would like to see some home pictures
TheHoodedMan:
Yes, I would especially like to see the rider and the bull separately before assembly.
I agree with Madhatter that the model could need some work to give a coherent look with the RA Dwarfs and I know you ve got a lot of them. Perhaps a RA Head could already help. If I remember it right the axe of the scibor man is a nice weapon.
With the reduced price the model is to consider as there is some room to buy conversion bits.
Honeym123:
Sure, I can make that happen for you
I’ll defently change the head out. I got some extra miniautres lying around. I won’t be touching to bull at all. I love (!) that model. The rider Ill have to see first. Ill start with the head and take it from there.
Honeym123:
@TheHoodedMan - Sorry but it looks like the bull and rider are a “one”-mold. Powiększenie
