[Archive] What music do you listen to while painting?

Pyro Stick:

Most of the times some kind of metal. Be it thrash, death or doom or something else. Lately I have had Ghosts album from last year on repeat but some Sepultura, Testament and Pantera is always passable as well.

It took me so long to get in to Ghost lol. Such a weird album but i like it now and im looking forward to their new one.

Forgot to add that i enjoy painting to Post Rock/Metal/Shoegaze/Dream Pop as well (Alcest, Lantlos etc)

Seems to be a lot less of that stuff than in places such as Herdstone, Daemonic Legion and CotEC. There I felt pretty alone not being into Heavy Metal that much.

Now a days I usually just have the tv on with low volume - as to not wake the little one. But I enjoy all kinds of music, where maybe some kind of punk rock as a favourite. For example Social Distortion, Misfits, Black Flag and Ramones from the US; Cock Sparrer, Business, and other oi!-punk from the UK; all kind of Swedish stuff like KSMB, Ebba Grön, Strebers and Asta Kask.

But then I change the mood and put up some vispop like Lars Demian, Lars Winnerbäck, Carl-Johan Vallgren, Miss Li, etc...

Or some really nice 2 Tone ska, or even some early Jamaican reggae/ska. Also Madness is quite popular in my book.

But, I must admit, I do enjoy the occasional Manowar and Rhapsody, Rammstein, or some power metal Gamma Ray, Helloween and the like. Not The hardest stuff, I guess, but hard enough for me.

Abecedar:

The sweet dulcet tones of my wife talking too (and abusing) the TV and then asking me questions. Maybe I should try to paint somewhere else.

actual music, well lots of things in a decent rock style range. All my heavy metal is from the 70’s and 80’s (sabbath, deep purple, Dio, early iron maiden, Black Alice plus others) none of the newer stuff has gained my interest

Kera foehunter:
