[Archive] When are CD most competitive - points?

Yodrin:

I have not yet played a game with my CD, they are in the making. But I have made and played around with many list in AB, and ofc read many lists here in the forum.

It seems to me that CD are more competitive at 2500+.

Am I totally wrong? Whats your take on this?

moses:

I haven´t played that many games. But always when i needed to play less then 2500 i decided to choose an other army.

So yes, 2500+.

Da Crusha:

I have played tons of games with them but all at 2500 points.

Bolg:

I love them at 1600 points, but they are also very awesome at 1800 (in both cases i played a list without a destroyer (duh)). On so low points they become very, very effective.

at 2400+ everything is scary…

NoisyAssassin:

I’ve also found them to be very competitive at 1600. I’ve played them a few times at 2K with a K’daii, and in that scenario it seems to be that if they can deal with Mr. FieryDoom then I’m hard-pressed, otherwise I’m golden. I’m looking forward to trying out a dual Iron Daemon list though, which just isn’t feasible until 2400 at least.

What does the list look like?

NoisyAssassin:

The 1600 or the 2K?

This message was automatically appended because it was too short.

2400?

Grimbold Blackhammer:

I’d say we’re close to a tier 1 army at 1,300 points because that’s when we can field a K’daii Destroyer. And he’s quite capable of wiping out an army that small all by his lonesome.

NoisyAssassin:

2400?

My 2400 isn't set in stone yet, as my local club tends to play 1600-2000, so I haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet.

This is what I'm thinking:

- Sorcerer-Prophet (General): Level 4 (Hashut), Darkforged Weapon, Talisman of Preservation, Charmed Shied, Dispel Scroll

- Infernal Castellan: BSB, Mask of the Furnace, Great Weapon
- Hobgoblin Khan: Giant Wolf, Light Armor, Enchanted Shield, Spear
- Daemonsmith Sorcerer: Level 1 (Metal), Shield

- 27 Infernal Guard: HW&S, Full Command, Razor Standard
- 12 Infernal Guard: Shields and Fireglaives, Banner, Musician

- Iron Daemon: Hellbound
- Iron Daemon: Hellbound

- Hellcannon
- Hellcannon

With the possibility of dropping the Hellcannons and the Lvl1 for a Destroyer, a Magma Cannon, and another Hobbo Khan.
