So it seems that I keep thinking of more modular ideas for this castle.
The next decision I’m contemplating is to add a moat in a modular fashion like Nick Davis did in White Dwarf #225 (AFAICR) and then create a hill than will raise the whole thing up to simulate a mountain castle. The idea would be to use the moat to simulate a castle on the low-lands and then swap it out for the raised base.

Sorry for my vagueness. My memory of the Imperial palace and from google, is the moat with the stone walls rising 20 or so feet and the building set behind, as opposed to a moat around a hill with a fortress on the hill

Good news, I’ve begun to paint my Nippon castle!
Right now its just priming it, so far I’ve had to use three large bottles of black to undercoat it (I’m expecting five bottle in total when done). I’ll probably have to go over it with spray paint after the fact. But first is finish the priming and then add another coat.
