I’ve been getting back into modeling lately with the release of the new Genestealer Neophyte Hybrid set. I’ve been a long-time fan of Necromunda and just had to get this kit for conversions.
I’ve been following a pretty great Facebook group for Necromunda as well: Facebook Groups
Which, in part, led me to Inq28. If you haven’t heard of it, Inq28 is a community of modelers and gamers who use Games Workshop’s OOP Inquisitor game as a basis for modeling and gaming, but rather than the 54mm scale of the original, warbands are built with the more typical 28mm scale. Some people play using modified Inquisitor rules and some play with modified Necromunda rules.
There’s a great Facebook group for this community as well: Facebook Groups
With these models as my inspiration, I’ve been working on a small Chaos Coven warband.
A few things to touch up before I start painting, but I am very happy with how they look so far.
If you want to learn more about Inq28, here are some pretty impressive warbands that I’ve been using for inspiration.
Special thanks to my friend Gary for hooking me up with some Dark Vengeance Chaos Cultists! I am still looking for more of these, so let me know if you have some that you’d like to part with.
Awesome! I’ve been looking at this sort of stuff myself recently as I’m working on my Sisters of Battle/Imperial Agents (the Codex out next month is a very fortuitous occurrence…) and kitbashing a lot of Inquisition, Ministorum and zealot types.

Thanks!
That sounds sweet. I love the Inquisitor stuff. You should definitely put together a warband. It's so much easier to manage small teams of guys which keeps my motivation high and allows me to actually complete the project I set out to do.
Have you looked at Dream Forge for their plastics, people have been kitbashing some sweet Sisters from it:
Yeah, I saw those a while ago. I’m planning to use those heads (from Statuesque Miniatures) to create a detachment of female Storm Troopers to serve as my Inquisitor’s bodyguard funnily enough. I’m also holding out for new plastic Sisters from GW in January - I live in hope!

I must get some photos up at some point...

Sounds sweet. Yes! Do get pictures online. I want to see them! :hat off
Fantastic showing from you as always, hellsmith. Great kitbashing conversions, and great easter egg Chaos Squat. This is indeed the best of 40k. Much more may we see here. :cheers
Some very nice work showed in here Xander. I’ve just joinned the facebook groups. Still looking for the right sci-fi skirmish game myself. Rogue Stars seem too complicated for me.

Thanks Admiral! Skirmish sized forces are really getting my attention lately. More to come...

The facebook group is really great, lots of great inspirational stuff appears on there. I've tried Rogue Stars once, and I didn't find it too tough. It just has a lot of abilities to learn (if you want), but you can play a pretty simple game without all the extras. That said, Shadow War seems like a better choice now. I still need to pickup a copy of that.
A while ago, I got pretty busy with plenty of Inq28 ideas, but neglected to post them here. I must admit I've been finding it less and less convenient to upload pictures to flickr for sharing on forums. I've tended to upload pictures to instagram as it's a much more frictionless affair.
My traditional warband now features my first Inquisitor, made in the style of Tyrus (although not made to be him, per se). I have a few more Henchman that I need pictures of as well.
That said, here are some of my not-so-recent instagram uploads:
Amen for smaller bands. I’ve had the most fun gaming for a long time playing a small blood bowl team and I’m hoping a smaller band in Necromunda will do the same for 40k!
Great conversions here Xander mate, they each have so much character. The cobra cane guy and the rose scythe conversions are 2 of my fav
I know it’s a pain to upload more places but with model like these please please keep doing, we’ll be gutted if you dont
