I found out there were all these awesome new models then I stumbled across forgeworld and fell in love .
I’m not the greatest artist but I suppose they’re not horrible for my first time painting in a long time . I also feel like this blog will help keep me motivated to finish them.
Good to finally see something from you, first let’s start with pictures…
Photobucket is your friend. I assume you have a smart phone. There’s a mobile app. I would advise using a image service like this to show your minis off.
You painting came out pretty solid. You could really add some punch if you add highlights and washes. I understand you haven’t painted in a long time.
In otherwords keep it going, its good to see you finally starting out!
High lights work by taking a lighter shade of color and putting it on the edges of parts of the model. Like weapons and armor. Beards and faces. It creates depth for the model, takes a little extra time but the reward of the model it self will make you feel so much better.
I would Google it for tutorials. Those can explain highlighting a lot easier with examples.

I like the way you are going with the light(er) beards XX9millXX! I think a brown or black wash over the armour and shoulderpads would help tie the models together. Keep on postin`:)

Anyways been real busy … Painted a couple 40k dark vengeance guys an assembling rest of my chaos dwarfs … Finally got around to painting a few dwarfs in the past 2 days … I changed the color scheme of my fireglaives a bit and did the forgeworld hellsmith ( which IMO turned out amazing for my skill level)

My sorcerer prophet … Converted “halberd” type weapon … I think it’s pretty sick
Re-painted fireglaives…bronze and gunmetal shoulder pads instead of bright gold an gray. Dark bronze chest plate instead of gray. Gunmetal scalemail instead of dark bronze and brightened the red up a bit . They Don’t look so awkward to me anymore

My masterpiece… (At least for me since I’m not the greatest at all) there was a guy on here a while ago who did the greenish skin and red trimmed helmets which I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED … So I kinda stole his idea(for helmets an skin tone) so if you see this dude, I apologize for taking your idea but I loved it so much please consider it a tribute to you :cheers
