[Archive] Zonk minis?

Fuggit Khan:

Would love to get in touch with Zonk the Swindler, and see if he is willing to hand over the production rights...

Anyone know his full name?

Sjoerdo
He had at least three different Russian names that he went by on various community forums. And I sincerely doubt any of those names were real.
Did anyone get his bull centaurs or
Lammasu?

Zanthrax
I've got a Warhammer buddy of mine who works here in the Bay Area as a digital 3D artist for Pixar.... and he once told me that he was 90% sure the pics of the bull centaurs that Zonk posted are not real. Digital works he said, and fairly amateurish he pointed out. So maybe someone got some? But possible they never existed in the first place, just part of the scam :(

Zanthrax:

Cheers bro I have never seen anyone post a pic of them so I think you might be right

cornixt:

I think the bull part is real - and it is obviously identical for the three variations. It’s less clear whether he just stuck three different torsos on top or whether there was a little photoshopping going on there. We see 3D renders of computer models all the time and this looks nothing like them. The amount of effort involved in making a computer model is far greater than him just sitting down with some greenstuff for an hour.

Actually those pics seem totally legit from all the casting defects I can spot in the bullcentaurs and Lamassu. The scammer who did these was a good sculptor and I would contend more inclined to make the originals just not cast up that many rather than near perfect fake real pics. Because if he could have done that he clearly wasted lots of time making real sculpts to cast for first few batches.

Lol and Sneaky Gitted by cornixt it semms. My thoughts exactly.

Bergioyn:

Have to echo the sentiment that the sculpts look great and I wouldn’t mind having some. Shame they’re so hard to find.

Malorndk:

Who don’t those who have em just recast them and sell em for a reasonable prize if the market is there. Zonk can’t do anything about it, and we do not owe him anything

Delgdeathaxe:

If recasts ever do get done please let us know! I will be first in line.

gIL^:

I have a set but i honestly feel it wouldnt be worth recasting, sorry it’s just a ton of work for little gains, plus some have rather anti-semetic imagery on them, really interesting part of chaos dwarf history though. only purple minis i own.

Enjoysrandom:

This is CDO not political views anonymous!

Imagery shouldn’t hurt anyone too much, we know the minis history the person recasting isn’t at fault…

I’m know it’s against the forums policy but I think getting these recast is a great way to get back at Zonk and his pathetic fraudulent activities.

I would be keen for a regiment to be recast and I would be happy my money went to better people thank Zonk.

Bergioyn:

Following these developements with keen interest.

Enjoysrandom:

Howdy,

Here is what I can find of the Zonkcast range… might be helpful to have something to use for comparison and naming purposes. just a rough clash of picture from everything I could find.

Hope it helps.
edited to include the missing models
edited again to make the picture fit better on the forum

Zanthrax:

The fireglaive dude is an awesome metal pose - just needs a Flying V guitar.

I am also a fan of the daemonsmith.

Thanks for posting

Zanthrax

Bronze Bull:

Shame what happened regarding Zonk’s minis.

Bergioyn:

So, anyone else have any of the other sculpts?
