[Archive] Z's Dawi Zharr - All Hail Lord Hashut

Xx9millxX:

Hey guys. I’m new here and this will be my second post . My first was about a page long post on the introduction section so if you would like to know more about me , how I got started or why I picked the chaos dwarfs you can go check there. I have not even began building or painting my army . But I have created a rough draft list. I plan on ordering a few of the new FW models and I’m gettin a few for Xmas so by then I will defiantly start posting pics and progress. I’ve just been to excited to start the hobby and had to post something now. Anyways here is what I plan on getting for now , minus all the extra equipment , magic items etc. since is rather use the tamurkhan book to make a legit list. (The list I’ve already made I put together using the most recent fan made army book I could find ( found on issuu by a guy named Matthias Eliasson and a mix of of magic items and equipment from that book, and the Indy gt one))… But anyways here goes my rough draft with magic items

Lords and heroes:

Lvl 4 sorcerer prophet- lore of Hashut

Lvl 2 daemonsmith - hail fire pistol , lore of fire

Lvl 1 daemonsmith- lore of metal

(Will use daemonsmiths from forgeworld and infernal guard command castellan for my lvl 2)

Bull centaur taur’ruk

Core:

10x infernal guard fireglaives

15x infernal guard hand weapons and shield /full command

12x infernal ironsworn /full command ( I believe this May be considered special but I might just use them as another regular unit of IG, not sure yet)

( I’m gettin one unit of the forgeworld IG w/ fireglaives, one unit of forgeworld IG w/ hand weapons and command, one unit of Russian alternative dwarfs of fire canyon and the RA command that goes with , and maybe a unit of the Werewoolf minis- sons of adramelech… So numbers of warriors/IG/ironsworn)will be adjusted depending what I actually end up getting)( maybe even a unit of GW night goblins as hobgoblins)

Special:

Magma cannon

Death shrieker rocket launcher

3x bull centaur renders

(12x ironsworn)

(All forge world)

Rare:

5x hobgoblin wolf raiders w/ spears, (maybe a command?)

5x hobgoblin wolf raiders w/ bows

(GW orcs&goblins wolf riders)

Hell cannon

(GW warriors of chaos hellcannon hopefully)

And that’s pretty much it . I plan on doing a mostly black armor with a silver bronze armor accents… Maybe some red highlights. Let me know what you guys think. Would love feedback, advice, maybe some ideas on what kind of items and stuff to use . Like I said in my introductory post, I’m just getting bak into this after about ten yrs and when I was younger I was never into the battle and gaming portion… Never really played, Just liked to paint , so any help and advice , tips would be awesome … Very much appreciated  … Hope you enjoy my post, thank you for reading , I look forward to getting my army together, painting and posting pics , and I hope u enjoy it too

:cheers Cheers fellow Dawi’s

ClawLeader:

Do you have anything model wise with a paintjob on it at all in recent time?

Also my suggestion is to build your army in small blocks of either unit boxes or by in game point increments so you don’t get overwhelmed. Say for instance I could buy a box of IG a month and have the models assembled and painted before getting the new models.

Or buy in 200-500 pt blocks so you can play with what you own.

Side note, do research on what you’ll be using unit wise if you are going to play so you don’t end up buying things that end up only taking space on the shelf.

@ clawleader

No I don’t have anything currently … I don’t have anything yet … I’m pretty muc waiting until Xmas … I got rid of all my stuff from a while ago … Like I said I’m just getting back into it … I’ve only actually played maybe 3 games and that was yrs ago. I’ve watched a few games on YouTube and from what I can remember I have a bit of an idea of how to play. I have a lot of free time on my hands so when Xmas comes I’m going to have an army to paint. And I’m going to do them one unit at a time like an assembly line …  I’ve done a tad bit of research on how people use the chaos dwarfs … I plan on doing a defense based army … Wolf raiders as bait/ distractions … Keeping the bull centaurs close behind to keep them in check . They have a high toughness so they should be Able to hold out while moving around a bit… Have a war machine on either side to take out enemy flanks . Maybe one in the back. 2 daemonsmiths keep each one close to a machine for the re roll rule thing . Have my fireglaives near the front to take out charging enemies and then hold them up with halberds if need be… Followed by my unit of 15 warriors/IG close behind in case my fireglaives fail . The obvious sorcerer prophet will be in the center maybe a little toward the back to cast protective spells but close enough to the front to blast enemies When they come in range . Also have the ironsworn or another unit of IG (depends on their worth vs. points when I actually really get the rules down) I’ll keep them near my sorcerer prophet as extra protection , just kid of centered so they can help out wherever need be . I’m pretty sure that covers my whole army … And of course I’ll throw in a few magic/special items weapons and armor, magic banners to add a lil extra muscle where needed … What do u think about that? And like I said as soon as Xmas comes around I’ll be posting plenty of pics.

ClawLeader:

What points are you planning on playing because the numbers above for core don’t seem like you will make it…

Xx9millxX:

Somewhere around 2500 give or take 200 pts either way… I had used a fan made army list I found on issuu ( chaos dwarfs by Matthias Eliasson I believe) and came up with just under 2500 … However I’ve found out recently the rules have kind of changed or something and u need something like lords and heroes at 25%, core at 25%, special at 50%, and rare at 25% Or something like that … How exactly does that work? Would be very grateful if you explained that a tad bit to me … How could I change it slightly to make it work ? while still keeping pretty much the same list? I’m probably just best off buying the 8th edition rulebook and reading it, ain’t i?

ClawLeader:

I was given a pdf of the rulebook and ended up also with the small version from the island of blood set. Read the rules, get the tamurkhan book as well (pdf).

Go through all the rules and yes there’s certain rules governing pts alotment.

Xx9millxX:

Sounds good thanks bro … Can u download a PDF version of the rulebook or even te island of blood one? I plan on getting the tamurkhan book to have the official army list and I also heard that it’s actually a pretty good read. I enjoy reading all the stories and history about chaos and stuff in warhammer fantasy :)… Read a few different things on chaos dwarfs and have heard 3 different stories as to how they actually became involved with Hashut

gIL^:

i say you pay for tamurkhan, It’s important to support Chaos Dwarfs.

Bloodbeard:

It’s a pretty large investment in one go. It will demand an extremely large amound of discipline to get it done.

I would buy in 500p blocks, perhaps start with a 1000p. Get it done, play some games and figure out what you need to evolve your tactics.

Ahem! CDO does not endorse nor support illegally downloading copyright materials, and we must insist that you not encourage others to do-so either. Now if I can take off my admin hat for a moment I'll also point out that by not spending your money on buying the books you're not supporting the hobby - most of all you're not supporting Chaos Dwarfs. They're a fringe army and the only way we'll ever get more main stream support (if it will ever happen) is to spend your money on Chaos Dwarf stuff from Games Workshop and Forge World. At the end of the day the only thing that a publicly traded company like GW looks at is profitability. Given that we already comprise such a small share of the Fantasy market, if a significant number of the Chaos Dwarfs fans fail to support their favourite army it has a significant impact on the bottom line profitability.

So let's have no more support for illegal downloads. Besides, the Tamurkhan book is great fun, nothing beats flipping through the real thing, it's a gorgeous book and very well made.

JMR:

Hey and welcome to the forums!

Since you’re mentioning fan-made lists, have a look at Thommy’s book right here on CDO:

http://chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10674

It’s what I use, and I think it’s a fantastic book. Better than Tamurkhan in my opinion, although obviously not official.

I agree with you on the issue, I am not telling him to peruse websites in attempt to find copies of illegal items. I am suggesting if he has a friend and a way to photocopy parts of one for a while to see if he enjoys his investment before realizing he hates his army.

Maybe I'm wrong, regardless if necessary I can remove my post.

Xx9millxX:

I do plan on paying or tamurkhan like I said … I would be very interested in reading it , besides having the actual rules for the chaos dwarfs … I wa just asking about the small version of the rulebook because I really don’t have an extra $125 to fork out at the moment for something I will barely end up using … However if you insist I buy it … Maybe I will just wait . I’m not going to be able to play for a while .The closest GW closed in august I recently found out… The next closest one is a good hour and half away. However there is a small hobby shop locally which sells GW warhammer, 40k etc. and I believe they have small tournaments once in a while.everything I’m getting is coming from forgeworld , besides the couple non-GW models which I’m getting from ebay… I do have plenty of time on my hands like I said and I know I will end up spending hours upon hours on my off days sitting there painting … Maybe I will take that advice once I’m done doing these an begin something else on doing 1000 pt blocks at a time … Unless I find somewhere closer tht I will be able to play ALOT, this is unfortunatly going to turn into just a collecting hobby. By all means, it’s okay and it will give me the chance to collect more armies and different minis but I was really looking forward to the aspect of an actual battle

ClawLeader:

Do you have friends you might be able to get interested in?

Xx9millxX:

Do you have friends you might be able to get interested in?

ClawLeader
Eh not really .. Most of the people I hung out with were trouble so I tend to keep to myself nowadays ... I recently moved out with my girlfriend so I just hang out with her all day .. I'm trying to get her interested hahaha she gets annoyed cuz I sit on my phone all day lookin at models lol. She calls me a dork but she looks at them sometimes with me .. She likes the 40k models better but she likes the elves a lot and in make her like the chaos dwarfs

Soulassassin:

Even if your “local” store is a bit far away from where you live, you can still get into the community a bit! Go to their tournaments when you can, find out if they have a forum or a Facebook page and get in contact with the other gamers. Your are talking to fellow Chaos Dwarfers from all over the world on this forum right? :cheers

I would also suggest buying the army in bulks. It is a  lot easier to keep motivated when painting, and you can have something to look forward to!

Good luck with the army build mate!

ClawLeader:

Get her some island of blood elves off ebay and see if she likes it?

Xx9millxX:

Might get some of these new dark elves about to come out … I think they’re pretty badass… She just really wants to paint them lol . She’s a great artist… So maybe Well have a lil chaos dwarfs v dark elves battle  lol

Xx9millxX:

So there’s a little hobby shop a few miles away that I’ve been meaning to stop in… Finally got the chance to stop in today an talk to the guys who work there … He told me more people play 40k but they’re looking to get a fantasy league going on every Saturday. He told me they aren’t going to be too strict with the rules and such so that you don’t HAVE to be there every weekend , don’t have to have ur army fully painted although it’s preferred , and best of all he told me I could use my chaos dwarfs so long as I have the rulebook. So I’m pretty excited about that … I also think after I get my dwarfs painted, and put together a small maybe 1500 pts army list, I’m going to get the 40k dark vengeance boxed set (they sell it for $100) and maybe try 40k to see which I like better. That way, I’ll be able to play a lot more even if I can’t use the dwarfs as much as id like. My girlfriend also seems kind of interested in 40k space marines so I’m pretty excited she was showing a little interest in them when we stopped in there.

Xx9millxX:

Okay… So I’m pretty sure I got this army list thing figured out . I got all my models on the way for the most part . So let me know what u guys think about this army list …

I might switch it around a little bit. This is just a rough draft based off the rules I’ve found and read about( not sure if each unit is 100% accurate but I believe majority of them are) . I’d like to maybe take out one dark castellan and exchange for a Taur’ruk. And then obviously only have 3 bull centaurs . Any advice/suggestions would be more than welcomed

Thankz ya
