Paint up a Conquest army. This is a bit of a cheat, since I’m hard at work for a tournament this weekend. I will for sure have 2000 pts painted by Saturday!
Paint up the 40k Boarding Actions terrain set. Started painting this last year, would be a shame not to finish it up…
More 40k Yeah! Having lots of fun painting the old Orks, so will at least add some more.
More Silver Bayonet. A friend is working on the Egypt campaign so I might have to paint up some Camels next.
More Inquisitor Still have a pile of metal models, shouldn’t be a problem to paint up one or two (or twentyfive).

Paint up an Old World army. I had so much fun painting the retro style Big Hats for Blood Bowl last year. Maybe I could paint up a small army of these guys. Also have a small 500 pts tournament in March, so that should be an achievable number of models…

Paint up the Horizon Zero Dawn boardgame. Leftover from last year (and 2024). Really want to finish this up, but it’s probably not high enough on the priority list…
Paint up some Walking Dead: All out War models. Still love these models, but am I ever going to play this and would I therefore need painted models?
Kill Team. Painting up a small squad sounds like fun. Can I convince my gaming group to play this?
Lets find out in 2026! Maybe I’ll get a Black medal this year (nope)?
Cool, love to see this! Been battleing(BatG) with a Troll Horde myself… Only a few models left, and never even glanced at the rules.
What are the three characters infront? …and Ive been painting up 16 Stone Trolls, but really havent thought about movement trays or how to rank them up. 3x2 Looks great IMO, so glad to see thats what you have done here. I assume its an ok option to field them atleast.
I think 4 wide would be a bit better, since bigger front rank = more attacks = better output. They always fail on combat res, because wounds saves by Regeneration still count as wounds
The 3 characters are for a special scenario. Everyone basically had 3 Doomseekers in their army that had to die for you to get VP. Lots of fun!
So the Conquest tournament is done and I mostly survived. It was super intense to play and try to remember the rules to a relatively new game…
But it’s good to have these models done. I had them lying around unpainted for years, so now I can chuck them back in the closet but painted! It’s a shame the big models still only count as one… ;p
I also got a special Tournament model, so that’s one more for the painting pile:
I finally brought my Halflings back to the Old World. Ofcourse this meant rebasing the models, and when I looked at them there were a lot of chips and other damage, and the paint job was lacking some highlights… So in the end I basically repainted most of the models.
I survived another painting deadline, so time to share some pictures!
First off; Silver Bayonet!
My group is playing a campaign in Egypt, and my friend can’t resist building a new board for each session. This session was the sand dunes with the oasis. And ofcourse when he puts in the time to build these boards, I have to put in some time to update my crew:
I wanted to go to a real big boy 40k tournament, but these are all 2.000 pts. That’s a bit much for me, but I registered anyway. That was my deadline for painting…
So I wrote my list. Most of my painted stuff was for Kult of Speed, so that’s what my army had to be.
Way too many late night painting sessions later my army was finished, and I was nominated for Best Painted Army! Together with old friend of the forum Bolg. In the end I even managed to win it!
The tournament was also intense but fun. 2.000 pts is still too much for me, there were too many Epic Heroes but I even won a game!
This weekend my friend organized the second edition of his tournament; the Oris Orc Cup!
The central idea for these tournament is that O&G are cool, and there can be so many different armies made with this book. Als every Warhammer player has some Greenskins somewhere in their house. So every player has to bring an O&G army.
My idea was to bring a Snotling Horde, following the variant list from the 6th edition armybook;
So that means a lot of Snotlings, with converted characters to match this horde:
Another part of the tournament that every player had to sculpt and bring a Giant Squig. It was used for the scenario’s.
Since one of the scenario’s was Squig Pong (smash your Squig around the field and score Touchdowns), I couldn’t resist making a Squig ball. How do you make a Squig ball? First you have to close up all the holes in the Squig, and then just inflate it!
(He also has a cork up in his cloaca, but that would be NSFW to show…)
So in the end I painted up loads of Snotlings (but swarms still only count as one model…), and a huge ass giant (also counts as one…).
After the crunch for the Snotling horde and my 40k army I was done painting for a bit. So I’ve been reading a lot and painting less. Ofcourse the heatwave didn’t help…
But still some small updates:
Played in another 40k tournament, and updated the paintjob on my Dakkajet a bit. Won’t count this one, but still wanted to show it:
And then I joined an Escalation League for MESBG! Finally time to learn the new edition of the game, and I decided to dig out some Lothlorien Elves. Feels dirty to play Elves as a livelong Goblin player, but I love the models.

Unfortunately the plastic models all have scalemail and the metal models have chainmail, so I had to resculpt some parts on the couple of plastic models I’m using:
And here’s the finished force for the first part of the campaign. 350 points!
For the next block at the end of August I need to finish 150 pts more, which comes down to about 10 more models.
This is impressive stuff here. You know, I’m feelin’ all good about myself because I’m steadily working on several units of Chorfs and even have gone back and started updating some of my 5th Ed Dwarfs, but you’re doing whole armies at the same speed it seems I do a unit! LOL Really impressive stuff!. I am quite fond of the halflings - that’s brilliant! The dinosaurs are too - that scheme really pops (I don’t know the game and don’t want to know… It’d mean I’d want to buy models… haa haa).
I need tournament deadlines to finish stuff it seems. Problem is that after that I’m usually burned out, so the fun stuff lags behind! There are still piles of Inquisitor models I need to finish, but without a deadline they get left behind.
