Blood Bowl 3rd SEASON (2025)

What do You think about flamesmiths? Their ability is risky (turnover?) so 2 feels like something we have to take but is not the best option?

I am impressed how (over)engineered those minis are and how much effort was put into those sprues just to make a monopose miniature… you need 7 pieces to build something impossible to convert (well I did conveterd some hands on hobgoblins).

Anyway. All built. And I really like those.

The flamesmiths are a good position, and while people like to complain that they’re not as good as the blockers/old chaos dwarfs, they are a very specialized unit that works incredibly well against stunty and AG players. They hinder passing/throwing bombs and teammates. They can take hits, and breathe fire is good for when you’re outnumbered. 3 on 1 situation, flamesmiths not likely to die, and when he hits back doesn’t need to do an uphill block, he can just take the 50/50 shot of getting them on the ground. Once on the ground that’s where the Stabbas and other hobgoblins come in with the fouling. I think it’s a very cohesive team, and all of the positional work well, so if you can have every thing by midseason then you’re in great shape. If you’re going against lizardmen or Black orcs I would try to have both. Using them against ST4 guys and you can hold 2-3 with a good chance of taking them to the ground.

50/50 for a turnover, right?

BTW just got an overscaled Minotaur miniature! I found chaos dwarf one but 100% felt small.

I feel like most teams got hit by … Flexibility.

No, only 1 in 6 of a turn over, 1/3 of doing nothing, 50% chance of placing the opponent prone or knocking them down. Which is why it’s a better option when you have him marking 2-3 player strength 4 or less. They just don’t handle big guys well. But still armour 10 and thick skull makes them tough to kill. They’re definitely worth having on the line. It’s a key positional, that depends on you being able to position them.

I would 100% take the flame thrower guys. Hobbos always were the weak point of the team, getting injured far too easily.

They would be great at breaking into a cage or hitting blogers.

I used to take the blunderbuss star player just to have less hobbos (and more strength) for 1 drive at least

Unfortunately at 1,000,000 you have to cut something, so starting roster I would only take 1, and grab the second one later. I think 2 centaurs is more important. But you could drop one and take both flamers and a Stabba.

Id be doing 2 rerolls to start i think. Get leader later (if it still exists)

2 Re-Rolls is a way to go, I always recommend 3 for beginners though. And leader is not an option for Chorfs, it’s a passing ability and no one on Chorfs has passing access, even as a secondary.

That being said, you can induce a mascot now for a half reroll, and pro is always an option as well.
