Chaos Dwarf Army Book

Hashut karin fellow prophets!

I was surfing the web watching for army books to come on sale and I have a couple questions.

1: do people even really buy army books or do the vast majority read rules online.

2: if the 5th edition army book and the tamurkhan book are both available which one would have better chaos dwarf lore.

3: what are good sites to watch for the books.

It depends what sort of fan you are. If you’re looking to play chaos dwarfs in the tabletop, fanbooks are much more useful. Effectively nobody uses the 94 book to game with. Tamurkhan is needed to play 8th but a copy of tamurkhan is a massive tome and not optimised for gaming so most 8th players will use a digital document for rules references.

Everyone else gets better rules from WAP or T9A online by default anyway. Even players of 6th edition have better stuff online compared to ravening hordes. Some folks even have those pdfs bound by print-to-bind services for gaming utility.

Tamurkhan is a massive tome covering a larger army list accompanied by hundreds of pages of art and lore. Tamurkhan has many sections about Nurgle and the Empire as well but really the Dawi Zharr are the focus. The 94 book is a fraction of the length with many fewer pages of content, but, it is the original articulation of the key concepts. Between those two you have almost all the official lore outside of incidental scenes in black library books!

Tamurkhan’s beauty, depth and rarity is also the reason it costs about £120 on average. Finding it can be hard even at that price, if you see it for less - snap it up!

eBay, this forum and facebook groups like ours or any Warhammer Fantasy group are the holy trinity of places to buy the book.
Our discord has a whole set of buying and selling channels that people use not only to sell their own stuff but also to post deals they see that they don’t need themselves.
