I took the liberty and moved this thread with your wonderfully painted models to the Miniature Showcase category.
This is great advice thank you. I was thinking of making the front rank look spiffy and sharp then the back ranks more plain. This way if we take casualties they come off the table first.
I will post morę painted units soon. WIPs could stay here really.
Ok.
Had a gamę against Warriors of Chaos yesterday. Chaos had a Daemon, chariot BSB, 2 units of cav, 2 units of dragon ogres and a unit of marauders.

I woń my ~90 points. I must say I am not sure how to use blunderbussiers. I get 2-3 volleys with 10 in linę (approx. 20 shots) but they die fast after.
I also was not sure how to use Lammasu. I either had no LOS to cast some spells (before movement) … I think this list works but I need morę games.
Btw hobgoblins are golden. Sneaky Gits with 20 attacks or shots at close range are great. Same with cutthroats. A lot of shots for cheap.
Good idea but keep on mond you might change frontage.
Yeeees my plan exactly…
I got 3 units of 8 each. HaHa sneaky gits.
Secret weopon… I tell u what.
WELL, works on paper.
I was thinking… 30-40 Sneaky Gits. Masa destruction for cheap.
I just keep looking for something that deals damage in that list.
This is a list I plan to Play on a finał round of our 1500 delayed tournament. There is a big chance I will be playing Dwarfs…

That is one of the coolest unit fillers I’ve seen! Amazing work on the whole unit : )
When I saw that STL (free!) I could not resist. It adds so much classics vibes to the army. And looks better than 6 cutthroats too.
And it was faster to paint!
As you know I have my 1500 list I am tweaking for a while. I have a 1750 point tournament im a month and I keep thinking what should I add to it.
My first idea was to add another 40 hobgoblins with Khan and Hellbound to iron Daemon.
And… I can not think of anything better. I could go for some Bull centaurs but they are easy target. A combat hero cost morę than 250 I have to spend except for a 1 lvl caster on great Taurus… I am stuck. I think I like not loosing points better than killing points as I do not have mamy units that deals damage…
Any suggestions?
Could you post your list as it looks right now?
I’m bringing 3 bulltaurs to a tournament this Saturday, I’ll let you know how they fare (probably not great tbh)
A black orc big boss on a chariot is good and cheap! If your tournament allows, you can even put him on a black orc chariot for added oomph.
Sure!
I really want Bull Centaurs to work. I will paint them this week so I can have the option.
Black orc on a chariot is also something I plan using. Such a nasty units with S6 impact hits…

So this kind of looks like a gunline list? I’d try to up the infernal guard to 30 and give them the razor standard. My opinion here: I’d get rid of the wolf riders and sneaky gits, and exchange the Lamassu for a flying carpet, freeing up some points for a dreadquake.
I’m looking at smth like this, but it has wolf riders too:
++ Characters [624 pts] ++
Sorcerer-Prophet [335 pts]
(Darkforged weapon, Heavy armour, Level 4 Wizard, General, On foot, Flying Carpet, Lore Familiar, Talisman of Protection, Elementalism)
Hobgoblin Khan [85 pts]
(Hand weapon, Throwing weapons, Light armour, Shield, Giant Wolf, Breath of Hashut)
Infernal Seneschal [204 pts]
(Great weapon, Heavy armour, Hailshot blunderbuss (not Fireglaive), Battle Standard Bearer [The Lammasu’s Beard], Armour of Silvered Steel)
++ Core Units [677 pts] ++
29 Infernal Guard [580 pts]
(Hailshot blunderbuss, Heavy armour, Shield, Drilled (0-1 per 1000 points), Deathmask (champion), Standard bearer [Razor Standard], Musician)
30 Hobgoblin Cutthroats [97 pts]
(Hand weapons, Shortbows, Boss (champion))
++ Special Units [410 pts] ++
Iron Daemon [275 pts]
(Steam Cannonade, Hand weapons)
Magma Cannon [135 pts]
(Fire thrower, Hand weapons, Heavy armour, Steam Carriage)
++ Rare Units [289 pts] ++
6 Hobgoblin Wolf Riders [104 pts]
(Hand weapons, Cavalry spears, Light armour, Shields, Shortbow, Feigned Flight (0-1 per 1000 points), Reserve Move (0-1 per 1000 points), Boss (champion))
Dreadquake Mortar [185 pts]
(Dreadquake Mortar, Hand weapons, Heavy armour, Ogre Loader)
A case could definitely be made for exchanging the magma cannon for a couple of bolt throwers and change, but this is still a wip list
I already have Razor Standard on them. I think that it might be a solid choice. Dreadquake mortar? Hmm… Interesting option. I must say I never considered DCM as it is very expensive and does very little. I know it is a control piece BUT 185 is a lot. Oh! I see You have taken Breath of Hashut on Khan. I was thinking about it too.
I like You added magma cannon. Steam Carriage seemed like a gimmicky rule at first but it can be very useful. Even if this is a 3" move. BSB is also a cool addition that makes Blunderbussiers more punchy in CC!
MY FIRST idea was to add another unit of 40 cutthroats + khan. The Ld10 and 8x5 is very hard to shift. Or a unit of 3 Bull Centaurs. This is because it will take few days to paint and I could playtest it.
Dreadquake: the huge bubble of -1 movement and negating swiftstride is potentially massive, especially to deter fast armies from reaching your lines all at once. The d6(!) multiple wounds on it can also be ridiculous. D3+1 on the great cannon is fairly reliable, but d6, wow. I one-shotted a Thundertusk one time, not to brag
I’m not sold on the magma cannon, but as we’ve discussed here many times, if there’s a place to utilize the steam carriage, it’d be here. If it is indeed only allowed to move 3" and cannot follow along with mystical pathways, I’m not bringing it, though. The carriage hauler rule is an enigma.
Breath of hashut on the Khan is sort of interchangeable with the ruby ring, but it could be fun. For sure it’s not as vulnerable to being shut down by mobile lvl 4 casters.
It is a bubble BUT the rules for placing template limits the usage of this rule. At least when You get a direct hit. D6 is swingy but as You said. This is not a reliable cannon (that is why cannons are best).
Some tools are very match up dependent. I will play aganst a Khemri list soon and i is a very different list than i.e. elves and untis like wolfriders will work in a VERY different way. Same for blunderbussiers or even cutthroats - those 40 shots vs a dragon or Sphinx… Especially shphinx as the dragon is a different beast…
I also asked GW about this, but since this is purely a Chaos Dwarf question, my hopes to getting an answer are a bit slim.
Anyway, having the war machines on steam carriage move only 3" makes no sense to me. It’s supposed to be a train, and all parts of a train just move at the same speed. Of course one can never be certain, but I feel very strongly about the RAI here. Same for TMP. If you move the Iron Daemon, you move the steam carriage in the same way.
