Absolutely awesome! I’m working on my Lamassu at the moment, and the patience and attention to detail you show through this work, I can only aspire to
Thanks! I have to take a speed painting approach really… So I speedpainted the scales, then drybrushed and added few highlights here and there. Wings were drybrushed and then speedpaint glazed the green transition.
I did some glazing on the sting and claws/horns. Now the hardest part. The rider.
IT is a very cool model for this type of painting.
You have to share Your lamassu!
Speedpaints are an awesome tool to have, I realized. Not as a base color necessarily, but as a glaze, mostly.
I’m not sure I’m allowed to share the Lamassu, I’m fixing to sign it up last minute for the golden hat If I make it.
I use them both as base+wash-in-one and as glazes. And washes. Great tool if You want to cut corners and are aware You are not fighting for Golden Daemon. Perfect for army painting.
Love that vibrant Wyvern! Excellent look
Thanks! I was trying to keep the original tones in my paintjob. And I really like a combination of yellow sped paint followed by green one. Skin looks very good with yellow-green.
Just to come back to this if there is still any doubt:
Warriors of Chaos Daemonic Mount specifically has Armour Bane (1, Daemonic Mount only). So congrats, a Sorc on Lammasu officially benefits from Armour Bane (2), no question.
I have little-to-no interest in TOW, but I’m glad I scrolled past the army lists to see the pictures. I particularly like the classic hobgoblins.
Some shots from the game.
… and wolves from backstab
I need to ultimate my chaos dwarf army for Old World. Do we have a mail address of madinvinh? I wrote him on 3dcults, I hope in any answer
Greetings fellow avatar!
Came back from a one day, 38 player tournament yesterday. Woke up at 3a.m
and came back at 1p.m. today…
Ended up 8th with 20:0 win against O&G, won against 7th overall who played Chaos and list to overall winner who played beastmen. Finał games had some controversy too. One badly resolved pursuit move turned the gamę on its head too (first picture). Oh well. I will know better next time.
Overall great event.
I know I have to Play my Dwarfs better. They are Stubborn and Shieldwall and I keep miscalculating what they can do. I keep forgetting I can take any charge and just GG which opens iron Daemon to flank etc. Very strong combo.
Second thing is F. Flight on wolves. I did not use this rule ONCE in last 9 games. Reserved move is a different story do I think I will drop the FF and upgrade wolves with Boss. Extra BS and attacks and can take challanges. Big deal.
3rd thing is to give a Cutthroat Khan z Wolf. He can sit in a unit on a Wolf but can also move out of the unit if needed. I might even leave his throwing weapons do he can move 18" and take 2 shots at S4 at someone if needed…
Love your army, even if the composition is a little alien to me. How do you make your hobbos good?
Plague of rust? The armour bane banner?
If the black orcs had 12 in them they would be a decent unit
For me it shines most against impetuous or ,even better, frenzied armies. The risk with fire & flee is always that you discard the higher dice for the flee move, but if you can bait a long charge, you can escape max charge distance and still get some shots in, best of both worlds.
This is a 1750 army not 2000 so I had to mąkę some sucrifices here and there.
Blunderbusses - I would say they are descent. Especially with Plague of rust. Then they force units to engage. And then Stubborn and Shieldwall kicks in and I can counter charge with those 5 slave orcs.
Hobgoblins does a ton of shooting and buys a ton of time. They can hołd a lot of units for cheap and are great against Large Targets. I did Kill some huge squigs, did some damage to dragon ogres and necrosphinxes… People Play a lot of Elite units and a swą of Cutthroats is not what they want to see.
Problem with Frenzy etc. is that fast units can just redirect and fire&flee… I did like 2 hits with Wolf bows in last 3 games.
Well of course the Wolfs have to be the only unit in range
That is it. The problem is cav armies are on range turn 2. No time to set failed charges.
