Clawleader's Trash Pit [BaTG 2024]

I am starting a BatG thread but before I really get into the weeds of counting everything and getting the model points (Let’s be honest, with a toddler this becomes harder)

I have dug out a majority of my Skaven. I am missing models such as the slaves and engineer for the warp lightning cannon, broken models from storage and multiple moves.

I will pull out my Ogres when I have some time, they’re the almost completed force for paint.

With all of that being said, my converted BfSP dwarfs got man handled by my toddler and needless to say… They’re no longer with us. Luckily I have my original warmachines and crew and a few other odds and ends like my converter K’daai.

I used to have some chaos marines and a fully painted Tyranid army that is no longer with me. I am contemplating just using the dipping method to close out on my skaven rank and file troops to quicken the process for the older clan rat monkey-look-a-likes and repair what models I can. I have probably 40 more plague monks and clan rats in various states of assembly.

I’ve got a lot of work to do stripping paint, cleaning up monkey clan rats and night runner models and getting things in a better usable state.

As of throwing this post together earlier my WiFi committed suicide so I will try and upload some photos when able.

In the meantime I’ll probably finish my small model count ogres rather quickly.

It consists of

1 Hunter
2 Saber Tusks (1 missing a head because it wasn’t in the box when I bought it 13 years ago and I never contacted GW)
4 Iron Guts (1 is set up as a Bruiser)
6 Bulls
8 Lead Belchers

This group of models is nearly completed and I should be able to finish them quickly after my up coming trip having returned back to the country.

Most of the army on the table. Originally was building this as a Pestilens with Skyre support army but as 8th came and went and now ToW doesn’t really support the rats in that capacity as they’re pretty much just a generic rat clan… This is what it is.

I really wish I had some poisoned wind gloves and censer bearers but alas here we are.

Currently working on these old gutter runners and assassins.

Old versions of Sniktch, Thanqual, I have a 5th edition warlock that exists and is half stripped I’ll be painting up. But you got an engineer and chieftain and another grey seer.

IoB chief’s halberd slightly bent, his axe clipped but I had filed the crest off the helmet and the brazier.

Here’s the rats currently. I just had a little time this evening to pop them out and reorganize my boxes where the Skaven were floating around in a tacklebox raw dogging each other which explains their current physical state.

Here is my Ogre Kingdoms miniatures.

Of note: all the painting was done 12 or so years ago and purposely using cheap hobby paints to see what kind of mileage I could get out of them. Those paints still work and I have been playing around with them since being back.

First off the Hunter was a whim purchase because I liked the lore and the concept of the model. Now due to poor storage his twin spears on his back are bent and semi snapped near the bend.

One saber tusk never came with a head…

Otherwise the leadbelchers are only missing gnoblar heads on the models with them sitting on their shoulders.

Iron Guts. Was using the one with the two handed saber/scimitar as a Bruiser.

Lead belchers were coming in at like 15 dollars a box when I snagged these two boxes up which is why I have eight.

Hunter only had a base coat and some very basic painting applied. Needs to be finished.

The good news is they’re mostly complete, the bad news is that unless I pace them out correctly I won’t have much in the way of breaking up the monotony of painting a mess load of rats

Spent a little over an hour getting the engineer from the IoB painted up last night, he’s about 70 percent done. Touch ups, flesh and armor are going to be the biggest parts to finish when I get back from this family trip.

I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would, it’s made me want to strip my gutter runners and rework them due to some color changes I would want to use.
