Hey y’all,
I mostly hang out on the Discord server and it’s high time I start engaging with the forum. I’m still in the process of acquiring a WHFB army so my current project and the first one I’m going to post here is for Blood Bowl.
I’ve fallen in love with Blood Bowl as a game and think it’s one of the most fun games I’ve ever played, which has in turn won me over on the American football theme that I initially found off-putting.
I wanted to start building a few teams so I grabbed:
Cavalerd3D’s humans
Brutefun’s High Elves and Dark Elves
and Calaverd3D’s extremely stupid “punk rats” Skaven team (no picture yet).
I also would like to get an orc team, which is my favorite team so far, but I can’t seem to find proxies that satisfy me so I’m still holding out on finding just the right team. But until I get all these done I think I should hold off on acquiring more anyways.

I have a specific vision for the elf teams, wanting to go with very classic WHFB color schemes for each of them, which right now feels a bit above my pay grade, so I’m going to cut my teeth on the human team first. I grew up in Tampa, Florida and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are one of the two teams I encountered most growing up and so I’m going to try out a loosely inspired color scheme to match their red and black.
I’m trying something new for these: starting with Vallejo texture paste which I’m hoping to paint up to look like dirt and then do static grass on top of that. I’m not entirely sure the texture paste is worth the additional effort it took and I might consider just painting the bases brown and then doing static grass over that. Will judge after I see the final results.
I only got one primed mini before running into airbrush problems but I have two identical throwers and I definitely don’t need two on my roster so I have squeezed out exactly one test model to play with.
