Deals grouped into troop-type categories, similar to the Xbow horde, but specifically grouped into weapon type factions, with enough models to fill out an Old World regiment would be great, along with an additional troop type or larger model to be used as a unit filler.
The current offerings are really close to being able to be combined into a nice round unit of 20 models, but would require a small tweak to fit. For example:
(1) Evil Dwarfs Champion/General choice - 1 model
(1) Evil Dwarfs Warriors Command Section - 4 models
(1) Evil Dwarfs Warriors Set 1 Hand Weapons - 8 models
(1) Unit Filler (choice of Evil Dwarfs Baggage Train, etc) - ācounts as 6 modelsā
Fitting the Baggage Train onto 2x3 square 20mm bases is a tight fit⦠maybe 2x4 would be better, but itās do-able⦠in any event, with these sets the unit would count as being 19 models. If the Command Section got a bonus model, or if another general or civilian type that fits on a single base was included youād be all set. Could also swap out the unit filler for a second unit and then thereās already one extra model without adding an extra champion/general/civilian. Oh, and Iām also lumping the prison cart in with the baggage train consideration⦠the prison cart is the obvious choice. You need to highlight optionally building the cart with the roof removable so that you can put a model representing your opponentās army into the cart before starting wargames to really riles them up
Swapping out the Hand Weapons for 2-handed weapons is an obvious alternate setup. Having a drop-down menu to pick the general choice or weapon choice would be pretty easy.
I think the Evil Dwarfs Daemon Cannon and the Perforator need more space if they were used as a unit filler, but including some kind of ranged unit filler as an option for the Xbows or Hand Gunners feels appropriate and easily differentiates them from the on-foot units with hand weapons.
I think you can just rinse and repeat this with the mounted units with a mounted general and mounted command too, although I have a harder time getting to a nice round number like a unit of 20-models, seems like 16-18 is easier, still including a unit filler and perhaps the Pony Centaur to pad the numbers a bit.
I think what would help sell the idea would be to assemble these units practically so you can put photos on the site, ensuing that the models are put into a unit the way they might appear ranked up so buyers could see exactly how these could be put into a single unit without trying to imagine, as right now theyāre very nicely shown off, but theyāre spread out like a skirmish game
I donāt have a head for business, but a 1-click option to purchase a viable unit that I can see an example picture of on the site seems good. Iām also imagining for games like Mordheim, etc. making smaller variants of each āunitā that doesnāt include extra sets of models with hand weapons, etc. for smaller forces might also find a market.
