Jeeeeeeezzzzzz!!! I haven’t even picked up a paintbrush yet and now I’ve got a concert the night of March 14th and am driving out of province the morning of the 15th… where did the time go?? May have to forego sleep between now and then in order to get anything painted!

Golden Hat XLVI: Characters and Heroes - paint your army general or a hero
Given that the later one includes the ridden monsters, am I correct XLVI is an unmounted character? Or at least not mounted on a monster anyway.

From what I understand it doesnt matter if its mounted, given that many are, in fact, mounted, and having entries of only the rider would be weird to say the least.

There will be no stipulations on mounted or unmounted.. palanquins, monstrous mounts, are all fair game. Even a bull centaur hero would be fine. There also won’t be a model count restriction so you could have an entourage for your general. But the focus should be on your character/hero.
The later monsters contest is a bit of a catch all to include bull centaurs, fireborn, destroyers, great Taurus, lamassu, wolf riders. And yes that could potentially include characters mounted on monsters.
As always the themes are there mostly to inspire and are grey on purpose to allow for as many people as possible to find something to enter.

Where did the XLVI discussion come from? Did I miss something? And the subject has already been chosen before the current one is ended?? I guess if people want a head-start before it is officially announced… but then that means only the folks reading this XLV thread in detail know the subject material for XLVI, and I’m guessing that’s going to be 3-4 months from now??

@Nicodemus themes have been spoiled on purpose, see the first post quoted below. Not something we typically do but the hope for this series of contests is to get people fielding their legions of grey models and ride the Helsmiths hype train.
Nothing stopping folks from getting started now and asking questions if they have them. Details and elaboration will be provided in future contest posts. Each contest will have its own thread as normal. I’ll do my best to reconvey any pertinent prior clarifications but honestly, I’d encourage folks not to overthink these themes.
In my mind, these are very open and generic themes. If you painted a chaos dwarf army you’d organically have something to enter in every contest. Or.. if you entered every contest you’d be close to having a full army!
Clever Zodd is always thinking ahead. I bet he’s 3 or 4 contests deep already.

I’ve been 99% finished for a while now, thinking about different things I could do and then luckily I checked yesterday and rushed that last 1% last night
