Greetings all!

Hi all. Old school Chorf fan that collected a pile of old minis back when they came out in 4th Ed. and I have slowly over the last 20 some years gone and added groups as time permitted and Hashut called. I’m a painter primarily, I do it for fun more than anything. I call my little group the Dawi Zharr of Karak Dukk, imagining the mix of fire and ice as a theme. To play some, I decided that my Chorfs use Cyrillic, maybe a nod to Soviet Industrialism and Constructivism some. I always was a fan of propaganda style posters from Post Stalinist Soviet Russia. I’ve tried to work that idea a bit into some of the flags I’ve done at least for fun. When I get a chance, I’ll take some shots of stuff I’ve done so far: it is dwarfed (yes, that was a bad pun) by some of the amazing art posted here, but I figure some players might enjoy seeing stuff. That’s the point anyway yeah?

Cheers mate and well met! Welcome to the forum. Happy to have you.

That sounds like a great army, such a good idea. We’d love to see some pictures! Yes some folks here are very prolific, but most of us are just standing in awe at the sidelines of these giants  Heck, many don’t have any painted models at all, you’d immediately be in the higher echelons. Looking forward!

Maybe I won’t win awards for my pics, but I’m working on this unit of blunderbuses now, and the hero is one I did ages ago that I brought up to use as a loose model for the theme… It’ll give some idea at least, until I can do better pics.

Welcome!

I’ll echo that’s a great banner. Especially the light/dark contrast on the mountain snow effect. Well executed.

Hope to see more in an army blog of sorts! Also would be happy to have you in our contests of course! Reach out if you have any questions.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I appreciate that. As for an army blog, well, I think I’d do better to do an “inventory” of sorts and then figure out from there what I’d need to put together a playable list. Like I said, I stockpiled minis planning to do an army way back when and have been picking / playing with the idea here and there for ages, but there’s really not much of a community here that I know of that plays the game… (I’m on the Eastern Shore of MD for reference)… I’ve loved D&D and Warhammer since it became a thing here in the States, even made it to a few of the Games Days in Baltimore back in early 2000’s, but I’ve always just been more of a painter. I do have a few other armies as well; I have a big dwarf army dating back with pieces dating back to 3rd Ed. and have also recently taken on the “stack” of armies I have (6 or 7 different armies I guess in total - with great plans at one time, that fizzle out over time). I guess it’s a good thing for kitbashing / conversion. I’ve recently been reinspired to get back to some things, little by little. Hashut chose me to represent and finally get to it once again; I guess the fires of industry still burn in me yet! In all that, I found this site and really am blown away with some of the projects here. Very inspiring stuff!
