A simple but serviceable paint job for nine of the objective tokens that came with Necromunda Hive War (I trashed one to see if I could use it as a Rapier control panel - no dice).
Very much nothing exciting, but it gets me closer to the target. I haven’t taken too many shortcuts this year, so I think I’ve earned this one.
Plus, as you can see in the photo, there’s a few more challenging minis for me to finish up the year.
In my last day of wifeless behaviour (she comes back tonight) I’ve gotten two more models painted.
First, the tank which has been in the background of my WIP pics for a while - featuring the turret from my last purchase, and the classic metal tank commander:
Another preacher, another classic metal and another favourite of mine. I’ve always really liked the Ecclesiarchy models that came out with the original Sisters of Battle back in the late ‘90s. And this fellow was a nice quick finish mostly done with contrast paints.
I actually thought these two would take me to +10 but it turns out I was wrong! So the next ten models on my desk won’t quite take me to zero. But almost.
Not the best photo but hey, it’s been a year for it.
Nothing part special about these guys, although I’m trying something different on the squad leader, with a Solar Auxilia helmet instead of Skitarii. He might be a Discipline Master (30k Commissar) or he might just be a one-off.
Anyway, that’s ten off the pile and I’m nearly there! Only two more models to go and I’ll crack back into negatives!
These three Vox operators aren’t anything spectacular in and of themselves, but they are models 298, 299 and 300!
There are models at my painting station, I have a very quiet day of work today, and nothing to do tomorrow, but I am done painting for the year. Three hundred is enough, I think.
If I do some more hobbying today & tomorrow, it might just be some assembly to get ready for next year.
I’ll post a retrospective in the next couple of days, and then gear up for BATG 2025.
The boulder has reached the top of the hill - for now.
