Never throw out your sprues!

I love sprues for making scratch builds and sprue goo but another super simple and really useful use for waste sprues:

A more recent revelation of the waste sprues:

Most internal sprues are thinner than the external ones.

They fit absolutely perfectly.

So many years ive used blue tack and super glue for this crap…

Im sure many have worked this out already but some wont have.

Feel free to post other sprue uses in this topic

Wonderful to see I’m not the only sprue hoarder in town
I use sprues for the same thing in slotta bases, just like you’ve done, they’re perfect!
And a bit off topic, but let’s not forget that sprues are used by master model builders too…the original model of the Star Trek Borg cube was entirely built of leftover sprues

Sprue hoarder here as well!

It’s precious as I buy very few new plastic kits these days.

Mine see repeated use as warmachine paint holders glued to invisible points. As @Jasko pointed out in hobby hangout 1.

Also making rock shards/crystals out of them is a common use. First decade old attempt for a necrolith colossus.

More recent Tjubbly Fablanquin crystal rock turtle.

I also use them as buildings in BFG orbital cities.

Endless terrain options too. Junkyard basing, etc. Here’s an old but perhaps not the worst idea.
