Would it be crass if I use the Dominion orcs as hobgoblin models for my army? They look sufficiently nasty, but it’s been so long since my last proper battle that I don’t know the current attitude about WYSIWYG.
(Also, I already have the Gutrippaz from my son’s Dominion set, so part of this is me being cheap and not wanting to hunt down actual hobgoblin models.)

Use what you feel like. If Dominion Orcs will serve as Hobgobbos for you, then go for it. 1980s and 1990s Citadel Hobgoblins look different from each other. Any style goes, really.

No! Use them! They are all but hobgoblins anyway: evil, sneaky, use poison, use missile weapons, have bolt throwers. How similar is the dude on the wolf( that is not a wolf really) to the old hobgoblins chief. Let’s face it they are just hobgoblins that found steroids and worked out!

Oh no. You guys have got me thinking. It would be fine right… to collect Kruelboyz… they are like hobgoblins really… they assassinate their way to the top… they are basically the result of Gorduz backstabbed getting jiggy with a black orc(ess)… then I could have an excuse to get the dude on the vulture… oh and the one on the troll…maybe I could add pointy noses…

I was thinking similar, hobgrot heads on kruleboy bodies might be a goer.
I really like the idea of Kruleboyz as Hobgoblins, I think they fit in perfectly with that style. When I was writing my Cities list I was busting to try and find something to use them as a count as but the base sizes are different to a lot of the older models.
I’d love to have them as Greenskins to fight along side my Legion and may still paint them up as if they are

I tell you what - those aren’t only good for the hob grots. Even the visual style of the orcs of the Kruleboyz is appealing. If a Chaos Dwarf army is going to have green cannon fodder, I imagine that the nasty, stabby, poisonous ones who look hungry would be pretty high on the shortlist.

Unfortunately for me they dwarf my cds so much they look like gnomes. They might work OK in aos but too big for my 3rd edition ranked up cds. The goblins have also grown much taller. I do like the helmets and armour though. I wish I had committed to chaos goblins rather than hobbos for my golden hat entry. But hobbos were…cheap…haha

These are great. Any good Sorceror-Prophet should have greenskins like this. Glowing red-hot magic runes of binding would look good on some of the armour to really drive home that these dudes are tied in to the process.
