Nicodemus' Forge of Unfinished Business

Thank you for the kind words and I’m so pleased there was some inspiration to be found in here!! This also helps keep me motivated to continue chipping away!

Today I joined the Discord hobby hangout in memory of Pyroven. Other than a quick bathroom and snack break I was on for ~4h or so. Got to put faces some several great names from the forum (nice to meet you all!!). Was fun to be able to chat about CD stuff as well.

While participating in the hobby hangout I worked on a unit of 4th Ed big hat models. Looking back, this unit was first photographed on June 3rd in 2010!! I swapped out the musician at the last minute and ended up giving it a light coat of black primer followed by white from an angle above:

The unit is comprised of:
Front row are 5 metal warriors (full command)
1 2x2 unit filler (a converted Battle for Skull Pass Dwarf cannon)
11 plastic Chaos Dwarf Warriors

I also brought Astragoth along to get some attention during the painting!

I didn’t quite get the unit completed, but I got my colours blocked in and am just awaiting my wife’s return trip from town tomorrow with some Abbadon Black and Nuln Oil (both of which I forgot back home, ~4000 km away!

I also did a test print with some water transfer decals that I’ll be trying out with these guys. Being lazy and not wanting to waste shields I’m only planning to give them to the 4 models in the front rank that can actually hold them (standard bearer’s hands are full and he’s got to place to stick one).

With any luck I’ll have a unit of 20 Chaos Dwarf warriors* ready to roll soon!

*counting the unit filler, of course :hatoff:
