Original or recast?

Good morning.

A couple of days ago I bought the wizard in the pictures, I don’t know if it is original or a good quality reproduction.

The quality of the metal is good, it is not flimsy as if it were only tin.

What is your opinion?

You should assume every bare metal Chaos Dwarf is a recast at all times. The only question is the quality.
GW made one production run 30 years ago and it was extremely small. They only used one recipe of metal. None of the models, even those sealed in blister since then, are as clean as the white metal you’re showing below.
Almost all 90s chaos dwarfs that exist today are recasts.
It’s not worth worrying about. Only focus on the quality of the mini. And don’t pay any kind of premium for “legit”!

Nothing you have shown would indicate to me that it is a recast, but it still might be. If it is then it is very well done.

I agree with the focusing on the mini quality. I would ad the question if this is an original Gw produced chaos dwarf or not. I can state for sure that Gw did not only go for one go. They reprinted several models in white metal changing the metal recepy. this can be prooven by newer and older versions of bale taurus and Lamasu with White metal statment. There are also several sealed green blisters displaying newer prints of heroes, warrios ecc in white metal.
Since it’s so shiny it’s for sure a newer production. would love to see a photo of the base underneeth.
I will update some photos of my Sorcerer if this can help. Im happy to have him from my father.
The only big difference between the 2 is in detail the smoothness of the material. Mine has a really not grainy surface. Could this be because of your camera ? Other point is the tiny bit of metal
Missing in the slotta they are always present in home made recasts.
