Petition to Games Worshop: Include Chaos Dwarf rules in “the old world” game

Update:

Warhammer Community Team have responded to our petition. They have explained that they will pass it on to the intended recipient (Andy Hoare).

I don’t expect a reply or anything. It’s just nice to know our petition has landed on his desk and will at least be present in his mind while putting together this rule book.

Thank you everyone who signed

This. Is. Awesome.

No matter what comes out of it, or if you ever hear from Andy, but the fact alone that it went through and was acknowledged? I’d say that’s huge

Honestly, I don’t care. Well, maybe a little bit out of curiosity, but.
Either the game system will be a good and worthy one and people will be playing it, not because of some naive belief in officialism, but keep playing it because they recognise its qualities – then we‘ll get CDs sooner or later anyway, and it will depend on GWs marketing strategy if rules without models will be allowed in TOW or as they are handled now in the main systems. This will be the moment to ask GW to raise the priority of a CD army book.
Or the system won’t. It can either fail as a game or fail to be good (main rules wise), and/or become a cashgrab with weak “Legends”-like unsupported factions and the new and shiny upper class, and people with a little insight in what they value in a game will continue playing WAP/WCE/T9A and what not. In any of these cases it won’t matter if there are CDs in this failed system, as they already are in WAP/WCE/T9A.

Didn’t sign.
tl;dr: Wrong time to wish for things if you don’t know what they are.

Chaos dwarf enthousiasts all around the world snorted in disbelief when reading this… how many chaos dwarf releases did we have again, with the official and for a long time supported warhammer fantasy battles game? My 2 y.o. can count them…

Getting more chaos dwarfs is NEVER a bad thing, no matter the system. And even if TOW fails, it’s still a game we might play. Many considered AOS to be an absolute failure (first edition i mean), yet it is still there, still producing content and more popular then ever.

I would wager now is ABSOLUTELY the time to ask GW to include CD as they are are in such early stages it can actually make an impact. Asking them when TOW has dropped (yes, when… i’m still optimistic) might take another 5 years for them to implement it, IF they even bother at all. The factions they release first might be the more popular ones, and thuis be the cash cows for GW. If CD is among them, that can only be good for us! All the more this

is sad, as it didnt cost anything, and we really did not have anything to loose

But your one vote wouldnt matter anyway, so :person_shrugging:

There might be a point in raising early attention and communicating some interest early for the case the game will be good for anything.

But I wouldn’t doubt seeing CDs of some kind sooner or later anyway: Apparently with TOW GW is not sitting in an old rusty train supporting established factions without any vision, as it was happening in the phases ob an barely successful last iteration of an old game, but on the contrary, they are going into niche factions that most people don’t have already shelves full of, and they are trying to tease some nostalgic feelings and giving it a more deep and adult vibe, as now AoS is their main system in the fantasy genre and TOW won’t have some of the tasks a main system has.
All of this speaks for CDs in TOW unless something goes horribly wrong.

But if it does, I’d rather not be tempted. I’d even prefer being able to say: I can’t play some of my factions in this strange new game (I don’t even like), let’s play a game system we know is better anyway!

In this sense, I don’t agree with your “NEVER”.
My main concern with TOW is not whether or not there is a faction I have models for from the start, but much more that it could turn out to be an inferior system and people formerly playing indy systems will still jump on the train. We had the experience before, when during 8th the system being official just beat any reason and many stopped playing WHF at all if they didn’t like it.

It’s worth remembering that the tamurkhan chaos dwarfs were in a large part in response to the creativity in the early days of this forum. The forgeworld models even leant on many aesthetics created by its members.

It’s a free forum and we are all welcome to our viewpoint but I don’t see asking as hurting in any way.

Besides enough signatures were raised and this was already sent to Nottingham. I know that Andy Hoare received it. What he did next with it? Read it or wiped his arse with it who can say? Haha :joy:

But the poll isn’t about “do we want TOW”, to poll is about “Can we please have CD in TOW”.
As i said, we (and i say we loosely, as there are people here building chaos dwarfs for 10x as long as i have) have never had much support, never had many models released. We have to had made due for many years. It would be nice to get some official TLC again. We all play very different games already, so if TOW rules suck… so be it. We’d still have the models to use as we please. If TOW is great, we have a living game system WITH chaos dwarfs in them.
Liking TOW rules has nothing to do with getting new chaos dwarf models and having them supported in TOW.

I don’t really get why you’d refuse to sign the petition (not that it matters) and the reasons for it honestly stump me. Either it’s “the old world might suck” or it’s "TOW doesnt suck, and we’ll get supported anyways, we’re niche… ". option a does not mean we don’t want new cd models and option B is no guarantee at all…

I don’t care much for TOW or GW in general as I personally prefer the less streamlined older editions (both WHFB and WH40K). But getting new models and more exposure within the community is certainly not a bad thing…

Hey, I’m not trying to take away your signatures or the hide the poll from GW, just explaining why I decided against signing.

Ofc, if getting any attention for CD is of highest priority above everything, than I’d advise for signing this petition and any other that is directed to a miniatures manufacturer and concerns Chaos/Infernal/Fire Canyon/Evil Dwarfs.

If you want a take-away conclusion from my above posts than it would be a warning about the risks of getting too invested into TOW, and signing the petition and maybe even getting what I want (faction-wise but not game-wise) would make me more invested.

Blormfarp lovers, crotch rope smugglers, finger snappers and anti-Brians - I’ve updated the petition with the latest good news.

The era of ravening hordes part two electric boogaloo is upon us. A bare bones list is sure - but hashut knows we will make the list of it.

Change has the option to “declare victory” but I’ve not yet pressed it. I need something in writing to do that. Maybe this fabled base size pdf showing our units listed would be enough…

Thanks again for supporting this guys
